Chapter 1) The Arrival to Peyama

by: Harper_
Darkness. It overwelmed me when I first opened my eyes after the incident. I grabbed for something, anything really. I soon realized I was alone, in a vast plain of emptiness. I don't know why, but i immediatley broke down and bawled. I cried untilall icould do was shudder and heave. there was a flash of lightand i covered my eyes. There was now a tiny flicker of light in the darkness. The light was moving towards me rapidly. As it got closer I was able to make out a looming figure in the shape of a man. "Hello?" I called out to the silhouette " can you help me?". The only answer I got was an echo of my own voice. The figure got closer. i again called for help. Only this time it spoke. By the tone of it's voice i guessed it was a man. His voice was velvety smooth and made me want to drift off into the blissful land of slumber, I fought the urge. Once the man finaly walked into view i was shocked. He was dressed in an outlandish get-up that could have came off a lady gaga clothing line. A navy coat with tails and big brass buttons, black trousers, a ruffled pink shirt, a yellow bow-tie, and a black felt top hat with a deep purple band around it. His shoes were loafers with diamond encrusted toes. He carried a marbled black and white cane with a large ruby on top. I might have laughed if I wasn't so traumatized. But it wasn't entirely his outlanish get-up that was odd. It was his eyes. They were shaped like a cats and they had no pupils. They were entirely green asides from flecks of silver. He was about 6 feet tall and had unnaturally pale skin, like a porcelain doll, and he had close cropped brown hair. "HEllo are you going to stop staring at me long enough to speak to me" he said snapping me out of my trance. "I have no idea who the heck you are so do you mind telling me how the heck I am supposed to get out of whereever I am!" I screamed at the stranger. He blinked slowly and stared at me. " Well soe call it Limbo, a parellel universe, or the In Between, but we simply call it Peyama. I am Daneek. And you are?" Daneek asked. "My name is Lilith Shiroile.Lili for short now as I said before HOW THE FREAING HECK DID I GET HERE" I screamed. Daneeek looked taken aback. LIke such a delicate looking girl couldn't hold so much rage. It happened to me a lot. Delicate cheekbones, big grey eyes, full lips, and tumbling shoulder length reddish gold hair didn't help the whole "I will rip your head off" look. "Look Lilith-" "LILI" I yelled as I interupted him "-you need to stop asking questions and start listening to what I have to say. You are in Peyama a parellel universe. You are here in a mental state of mind, while your body is in a comatose state in your world. But your body will mimic any injuries you sustain here so don't jump off cliff or something else completley stupid. You will be here incompletley until Henkabya-" I interupted Daneek again. "What's Henkabaya?" I asked. "I was getting to that." Daneek said impatiently. "Do you remember anything that happened to you before you got here? Or why your in that dress?" Daneek questioned. I looked down, I hadn't even notice I was wearing a dress. It was a stunning outfit though. It was a mocha brown toga style dress with a bubble skirt. Silver designs swirled up the dress and down one of my arms. I had on silver flats and my hair was in a side braid. "No if I knew how I got here I wouldn't be pestering you about it. Now tell me how I can get outof here!" I said snarkily. "Calm down, silly girlyou can't leave. This is your home now. I don't know why the Ringmaster wanted you, your a vicious little devil, but I have learned not to question his judgement." Daneek shrugged his shoulders. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, YOU KIDDNAPPED ME. And who in the heck is the Ringmaster and what does he want with me!?" Daneek sighed like he was dealin with a condesending child. "You are incredibly dense my dear. Every 14 years on the night of Henkabaya, which is a night of ancient power, and the only time someone can leave Peyama, the Ringmaster has a sacrifical offering. A pure soul. He drinks some of there blood. So he can stay yooung eternally" My jaw dropped, yet Daneek continued. "Then they bandage the girl up and makes them become his bride. If they don't bear him a son as an heir, he mutilates them and displays them in his bedroom." "Are you kidding me" I screeched. My face turned green and i clutched my stomach. Daneek laughed and said- "Of course I am,-" I breathed a sigh of relief. "-He displays them in the library." Everything slowly faded toblack and the last thing I remember seeing was Daneek swooping into catch me.
