yo, this is a guardian angel story, except it's in the POV of the guardian angel. I love these stories =D and its nothing like message from all the angels on my old account. =P

btw the angel hierarchy thing might be incorrect. The website I used didn't seem accurate, and I made some stuff up to go with the story.

Chapter 1

Retired Angel?

You're person is about to jump off a bridge. What do you do to save him?
A. Giant Air Trampoline
B. Let him go but slow it down
C. Swoop down and grab him/her
D. None of the Above

Let's see...If I do A then people will notice the person just bounce into the air back to shore and the person will be confused and then it'll go on the news. If I do C then it'll have the same results as A. But if I do B then people won't notice it, and he'd still go in the water and get hurt so it'll look like he tried suicide but failed. He might try again, but I can still save him. I'll circle B.

I stood up to give the guardian angel exam to my teacher. I'm Lailah, daughter of an angel of Conception and in training to be a guardian angel. I have blonde hair that goes down to my waist, violet eyes, and large silver wings. Because I'm a guardian angel I take on the form of a human, and can be whatever age I need to be in order to guard my person...when I get one that is. As I said, I'm still in training. I prefer to take the form of a 15 year old girl though.

I flew back to my seat and put on my ipod that I head in my wings. Human music is so pretty. I wish angels had music like that. All we do is sing "Aaaaaah" when people die and go to heaven.

The headmaster of the angel academy came to the class room and went to talk to my teacher Miss Dina, an angel of learning. The headmaster was The angel Gabriel, the Archangel whose in charge of the young angels. We rarely see him so when he comes, it's usually because someone is being promoted to a real angel at an early age.

Let me explain a bit about the Angel Hierarchy. There are 9 choirs, (first triad) Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, (middle triad) The Dominions, The Virtues, The Powers, (Lowest Triad) The principalities, The Archangels, and the regular angels which includes guardian angels like me. Humans say there are only a few in each Choir (except the regular angels) but really there are thousands in all of them except the Archangels. Then there's an archangel who rules over each Choir (except Michael rules over 2, Seraphim and Cherubim), which the humans don't know. Gabriel rules over the regular angels and the Student angels. That's all I'm gonna say because it's a lot of information and took years to learn.

Miss Dina and Angel Gabriel talked for a few minutes, glancing at the other angels all the time. Finally, they stopped, and to my surprise, Miss Dina walked up to my desk.

"Lailah, Archangel Gabriel wants to speak with you." Miss Dina said excitedly. I was so shocked that he'd come for me that I couldn't even let a "yes ma'am" out.

I walked over to the door and Angel Gabriel said, "I think it'd be better to speak about this in private." I just passively nodded.

He took me out into the clouds of the student area of heaven. We sat down on a puffy cloud and he finally began to tell me what was going on.

"So, you know Hael? One of the oldest angels in the guardian business?" he asked. I just nodded.

"Well, after 4,000 years of guarding, he decided to retire from his job. So, Miss Dina, some other guardian teachers, and I decided his former human would be a perfect case for a new guardian to try out. So we decided to take you out of guardian school early to protect his human. You will take the form of a female freshman in high school and will be attending his school. Your name will be Lailah Robertson. If you ever need to invite friends over or have a parent go to the school while your posing as a human, a principality named Anael will take form as your dad if needed. Any Questions?"

This was so much to take in...my first case! I missed my last year which was studying how to be a human and I'm having my first case! how will I fit in!?

And if you're wondering, we don't invisibly follow the human. By taking form as a human and following them around, it helps us become close to them in a different way.

"uh-uh..." I stuttered out.

"I know, it's a lot to take in. You will be leaving heaven tomorrow after guardian school is out. You already learned human history and education last year, so all you'll have trouble with is social stuff. But you should pick that up pretty fast. You will get there at 6 am Eastern Standard Time in the US. Are you sure you don't have any questions?" he said.

Let's see, clothes work out for itself, I'm pretty good when it comes to guarding drills, the whole parent situation worked out, I'll see my friends when my human goes to sleep, I'll find out about him tomorrow, I pretty much got everything. But, there's still 1 question floating in my head.

"Why me?"

"Because, even though you're not the top of your class, you seem to be the best in Miss Dina's eyes. She feels that you're very caring for others which is a great quality in a guardian angel." Angel Gabriel said.

"uhh...ok then." I really didn't have much to say. I was still in shock. I guess after school is out I'll have to tell Cassiel and Ecanus tomorrow. Cassiel and Ecanus are my best friends and are both training to be messenger angels. I'm gonna miss not seeing them as often as usual, but they'll understand.

"I'll let you have the rest of the day off so you can ready yourself for starting your first job." Angel Gabriel said.

"Thank you." I said as I flew away.

~Later that day~

I started flying my way to Cassiel and Ecanus's castle. When you're a student angel you have to stay in a castle, which is like a dorm for angels. Each type of angel has a different castle.

They were waiting in front of the entrance of their castle to see me. I always go visit in between school "days". Because we're angels and are immortal and get no sleep, we don't really have days. we just have school, and the time that isn't school.

"Hey Lailah!" Cassiel said with her long dark hair blowing in the light breeze heaven has. She has white wings that have little bits of gold that match her tan skin, and gold eyes. She's one of the prettiest angels I've ever seen.

"Hello shortie." Ecanus said, patting my head. We always make jokes because Ecanus and Cassiel are so much taller than me.

Ecanus has jet black hair with silver and white streaks in it, silver eyes, and silver wings like mine. He's training to be a messenger angel, but is naturally born a writer angel, like I was naturally born a conception angel and Cassiel was born an angel of Temperance. Ecanus inspires writers ideas, and because of this he's a very good writer himself. He writes very good short stories about humans and other creatures that hide on earth. I've known him since before school age, and we've always been close. I met Cassiel through him.

"Hey guys...I have something really important to tell you." I said.

"What is it?" They asked simultaneously.

"Well, an old guardian angel is retiring, and I was chosen to take the place of guarding his human. I leave for the human world after school is out tomorrow." I said. They both hugged me tight.

"You're going to be a great Guardian." Cassiel said with a soft smile. Ecanus didn't say anything. He just kissed the top of my head and smiled at me. But I knew by the look in his eyes that he was proud of me and that he would miss me.

"I won't be able to see you guys tomorrow, so I just wanted to say goodbye today. But, now that that's over, let's go get some angel food cake!" I yelled.
