Sanguine Foedus(blood pact)

I was back in the emergency room again, like always, when it seemed like I was getting better, I immediately worsened, a deteriorating incline, as you may call it. My finger was taped to some device to measure my heartbeat, and Intravenous serum stuck to my arm. Sometimes I wondered why living was worth it if it meant being confined to a bed unable to do anything but worry of whether or not this would be my last day of my life.
I could only daydream of the things I wished I could do since I had been told I would never be able to walk again due to the deterioration of my muscles when I had barely started walking. Sometimes I just wanted it all to end and go wherever souls go after leaving the body to rot on its own beneath layers of dirt, leaving the fear and pain behind. I have to admit that my wish is a bit selfish though, when I stop to think about the people I'll leave behind, who'd do anything so I can live, but then again, I am so frail that I could die in the blink of an eye.
Night came and enveloping the sky in its dark veil, I could only see darkness from beyond the window. I should've asked the nurse to give me a sleeping pill, the continuous beeps made by the machine made it hard to fall asleep.
Thump, thump, thump...It sounded like someone or something was climbing the wall, it seemed to come from the ventilation ducts, but I couldn't be so sure. My skin had become moist due to cold sweat, the result of reading too much horror or Sci-Fi/ fantasy novels, I was making a monster out of every sound or shadow.
It's a raccoon or some animal and nothing else, those sounds should have an explanation, a normal one, nothing out of the ordinary, I said to myself hoping the fear that overcame me would leave.
My eyelids became heavy, and I yawned every minute, my vision was swallowed in darkness, as i finally fell asleep...
