This actually happened to me.. this morning :/

Chapter 1

Nightmares

My stepdad and I walked out of the grocery store and all of a sudden I heard gunshots. My stepdad pulled out a gun from his backpocket, took my arm and crouched down in front of a truck. I don't know why, but I ran to a different car and saw where the shooting was coming from. It was a hispanic-looking man with a black mustache, wearing everything black, even his hat. He started shooting at me from the back of the car and I crouched down in front of it . 'Obviously, he saw me crouch down..he's gonna be here in a few seconds.' I took a deep breath and-still crouching- jumped backwards so that I was behind a very thick lamp post . I held my breath and looked to the side. He was looking around the front of the car with the gun in his hand. I let my breath out and just as he turned around I jumped on his back. He started shooting and I raised the gun to the sky. 'Why am I doing this... ? ' I thought. Suddenly I saw a flashing and it blinded me for a second. The police. The man jumped on the roof of the car and one of the police officers jumped onto the car next to his . The officer looked at me and said "Don't let go of him". I shook my head and yelled for him to help me. The cop looked deeply into my eyes and said "Sorry , kid. " I shook my head again and the hispanic man threw me off his back. I landed next to my stepdad. The man in all black raised his gun and aimed at me. Just when he pulled the trigger I rolled to my left. The bullet hit my stepdad and the man jumped off the car and ran away."NO!!!!!" I screamed. I woke up from my nightmare,shaking and my face wet. I guess from crying. Wait.. why am I sitting down? I looked around and saw I was on the kitchen floor. "Why do you have a knife in your hand?!" My grandma shouted. I glanced at my hand and saw I was clutching one of the kitchen knives so hard that my knuckles were white. I opened my mouth to answer but my grandma took the knife from me and said "What's wrong with you?!" I've been asked that so many times. I sighed and my eyes started getting watery. She hugged me, which made me cry even more. She led me to the couch and said "WHY did you have that knife?" "I don't know." "How can you not know?" "I just don't , okay ?" I said a little louder. She lifted my chin up. "Tell me." "I don't know.. I just had this dream that my stepdad died.." "When?" "No, it didn't really happen , it was just a dream.." "You had that dream right now?" she asked. I nodded as tears streamed down both sides of my cheeks. "But you were awake." I looked at her confused. I put a serious look on my face. "No I wasn't. I was sleeping." "But I saw you..you got off of your bunkbed, climbed down the ladder and walked to the kitchen.." "I did?" I whispered. She told me to lay down and go to sleep. But I couldn't .
