I think I just figured out why voldemort doesn't have a nose! :O
This is just a theory, so it might not be right, but still.
I was reading through the 4th book again, and I'd just gotten to the part where wormtail was cutting off his hand to put into the cauldron to revive voldemort, and it said:
"He stretched his righthand out in front of him — the hand with the missing finger. He gripped the dagger tightly in his left hand and swung it upward."
and then of course he cuts off his right hand and drops it into the potion, but it specifically says that it was the hand missing a finger. So, maybe since he was missing that part, voldemort came out not fully complete — hence the missing nose. This is only a theory, so don't hold me to it, but I think it makes sense. :P

No he was already without the nose and everything before he got transformed Dumbledore himself said 'by the time Tom Riddle had gone through so many Dark Arts transformations he wasnt recognizable'
Yeah, but when he was attached to quirrel's head he still had at least a little nose left. (I'm partially basing this on the movies as well :P)

Good point... now that I think about that it does make sense, cause you know five senses, five fingers, he only had four finger so that mean he would loose one of those senses, but ya makes sense! ;)
