I look out the window
I see the lightning
I listen all around
I hear the wind

encompassing me
in a joyful glee

The storm is coming
getting closer with every ticking minute
my heart beats faster
as I feel the plaster


shake with every beat
of rumbling
thudding thunder


the storm is here
it makes me happy to see
the sky as sad and angry as me

for once
if only for a moment
I am not alone
in this world
