Chapter 1
Year 1, Part 1: Harry
A little bell chimed as I walked into a mysterious store. A woman in green witch robes and a witch hat, Professor McGonogall, smiled at me. That was a gesture for me to sit down. And I did. Next to a boy with black hair and glasses. We made eye contact. It was weird, doing that with a total stranger. A kid with blonde hair was saying in a drawl, "I don't think that they should let the other sort in, do you? Hey look, there's one of em."
I blushed furiously. I could tell immediately that I didn't like that kid. Yeah, I'm muggle-born, but does that have to be an insult?! The boy with the glasses turned to me again. He said something in a language I didn't know existed. Is he rude or what? Oh my GOD that was scary.
A man with a long blonde hair and a face with no emotions walked in. "Draco" he said. Draco, obviously the blonde kid, got up and exited the store.
I looked up at a huge man holding some robes looking down at the scar kid. "Well, Harry, it's time to get your wand." he said. I held back the urge to scream. Harry looked at me in the eyes in a comforting way. Like if he was saying, I'm ok. He left the store as I heard a cheerful "Thank you for your purchase!" Professor McGonagall lead me out of Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions and into Flourish and Blotts.
That was the strangest time I've ever been in a store. Much less Diagon Alley.

I woke up a month later. Adrenaline pumped through my veins. I clobbered downstairs and fixed myself breakfast, rushing. I was due at the station in an hour and a half. I gulped down my cereal, combed my hair, brushed my teeth, and threw on my clothes in fifteen minutes. As I lugged my suitcases on my cart, my parents came downstairs. "Ivy, gone so soon!" cried my mother, throwing me in a bear hug. "Mom... we're not at the station yet" I said, but my voice was muffled.
The car ride was silent. Because my parents were crying. I tried to make them take it seriously. "I'm not going away forever! It's just boarding school." I'd protest, but mum and dad wouldn't listen.
When we got to the station, I checked my ticket to see which platform I'd be going to. The ticket read: Hogwarts Express, King's Cross Station, 1 Sept, 10 AM, Platform 9 3/4. What?! I thought. There's no Platform 9 3/4. I got the attention of sobbing dad. "Where's Platform 9 3/4?" I asked him. Dad looked confused. But he and mum still followed me to Platforms 9 and 10.
At the barrier, I saw a bunch of red-heads and a boy with black hair and glasses. He looked so familiar. He was asking the red-headed woman how to get in the platform. "To get to the platform, you need to run straight through the barrier. There won't be a crash if you are careful, but walk quickly, or run." I saw him disappear through the barrier. I turned to my parents. "So..... is this goodbye?" I asked. Mum teared up and said, "Goodbye, sweetie," as she hugged me. "We love you." said Dad. He hugged me too. "I love you too," I tried to say, but it came all choked up.
I looked at the brick barrier piercingly, determined to get through. I mustered up my courage, closed my eyes, and ran.

I opened one eye. Thank god my scariest moment of my life did not end in a serious injury. I opened the other one. Before me was a whole new platform. A red steam engine was parked on the track. I weaved through a sea of wizards and witches, and got to the entrance of the train. I finally lugged my stuff on the train, and looked for a place to sit as a whistle rang through my ears.
I spotted the same black-haired boy and a red-headed boy in an open compartment. Yes! I entered with my luggage. "Can I sit here
Finally, I saw Harry in an open compartment. "Hi... Can I sit here?" I asked. "Yeah, of course" answered the black-haired boy. I stuffed my luggage in the upper compartments and sat down next to him. "I'm Ivy Roberts." I said. "My name's Harry. Harry Potter." replied the black-haired boy. "WOAH! You're Harry Potter?!" exclaimed the red-headed boy. "Can you show me your scar?" Harry lifted up his bangs and showed the red-head. The scar was mysteriously shaped like a lightning bolt. He turned to me. "And I'm Ron Weasley" he said. "Have we met before?" Harry asked me. "Actually, we have..." I replied. Harry smiled.

Six hours later, a brown-haired boy ran frantically down the aisle yelling "Trevor!!! Where are you Trevor?!" That was random. Next, a girl with frizzy brown hair came into our compartment. "Oh my god, it's Harry Potter!! I read all about you" she gushed. "I'm Hermione Granger, nice to meet you. And you have some dirt on your nose, by the way" Hermione said to Ron. She hid a disgusted face and left.
"We will be arriving at Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train, as it will be delivered separately." The conductor said through the intercom. Harry, Ron, and I hurriedly put on our robes.
We finally arrived. With all the first years, I followed a giant man named Hagrid to a dock with about 21 boats. Hagrid told us to board a boat, 4 to a boat. I got in one with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. At Hagrid's command, the boats sailed along the sparkling river. After about 30 seconds Hogwarts Castle came into view. I looked in awe at the huge castle. As we got out of the boats, I slipped and almost fell into the water. Harry grabbed my wrist at the last minute and saved me. I was so relieved. And then I realized that Harry was crushing on me.
In the castle I had another encounter with Professor McGonogall. She explained to us the houses, and led us into the Great Hall. I looked up and saw the endless sky looking down. "I read about this! The ceiling is bewitched" Hermione whispered to me. All of the first years stood in a line behind a stool. Professor McGonogall placed an old worn-out witch hat on it. "So we've got to try on the hat! Fred and George said you had to wrestle a troll." I heard Ron whisper after the Sorting hat sang a song. "When I call your name, please come up and put on the hat. Abbott, Hannah." explained Proffesor McGonogall. "HUFFLEPUFF!" the Sorting Hat shouted. "Granger, Hermione." Prof. McGonogall called a few minutes later. Hermione excitedly put on the hat. "GRYFFINDOR!" Ron groaned as Hermione happily joined the Gryffindor table. "Malfoy, Draco." Draco strolled up to the hat, and winked at me. Before the hat touched Draco's head, the Sorting Hat yelled, "SLYTHERIN!" "Potter, Harry" McGonogall called later. "Good Luck," I whispered to him, cause I could tell he was nervous. He tried on the hat. After a minute, the Sorting Hat shouted, "GRYFFINDOR!" The Gryffindor table erupted in cheers. Harry sat down across from Fred, probably Ron's brother. "Roberts, Ivy." Professor McGonogall called next. I put on the hat and sat on the stool. "GRYFFINDOR!" The Sorting Hat shouted. Yes! I thought. As I walked to the Gryffindor table I saw Harry pump his fist in approval. I sat down next to him and Hermione. Ron also made Gryffindor. He sat next to Harry.
Soon, the feast started. Harry was stuffing his face full of food, and I couldn't help from laughing. After it was over Percy led us to the Gryffindor house. I flopped on my four poster bed once I got to my dormitory. Then I unpack my stuff, change into my pjs, and brush my teeth. Hermione, Parvati Patil, Lavender Brown, and I stayed up half the night talking, but then Hermione suggested that we should get to bed for classes tomorrow. I fell asleep, anxious for tomorrow.
