Severus meets Lily in heaven

After all this time?

Always.

When Severus Snape is killed by Lord Voldemort, he is staring into Harry Potter's eyes, and sees his mother's eyes.

He awakes in heaven, seeing Lily under a tree, a young girl again.

He runs over to her and stops in front of her. "Hi Lily, I have missed you!" says Severus. Lily smiles, and responds with, "Thank you Severus for watching over Harry," Severus starts to cry. He knows they cannot be children anymore, and doesn't want this to end. "Can we take a walk and talk a while?" asked Severus. "Yes." said Lily.

As they walk, Severus apologizes to Lily for how he acted when they were both alive.

"Lily, I have been so sorry for years. I wish I could have just been a nicer person to you, so you would have picked me." he stutters.

"Severus, " says Lily, "I know you wanted to protect me from James. He was my soul mate, and without him I would never had be gifted Harry to me. What I really wanted is for you to stay my best friend."

"Can we be best friends here for a while? I know we cannot be here in this meadow in heaven forever, but can we just hold hands and be the best friends we should have been? cries Severus.

"Yes, Severus. Love me as you have loved Harry, and protected him from harm"

And off they went hand in hand, walking and talking for hours like they were children.

But even as they walked, Severus knew a time would come where James would want her back. Why can't heaven be perfect for us, Severus thought...
