The Witch Next Door (A Weasley Story)

"Hi Mrs. Brighton! Can Ellie come over and play Quidditch with us?" said Ginny Weasley, with a hopeful smile on her face. "Sure, let me go get her," Mrs. Brighton turned around to face the stairs. Before she had time to shout her daughter's name, Eleanor Brighton bolted down the stairs, a broomstick in hand. Moments later, a boy came running down after her. "Can I come too?" said Elliot, Ellie's brother who was three years older than her. "Sure! Let's go!" Ginny shouted excitedly. The three kids raced out of the house over to the field that lay a short distance from the Brighton's and the Weasley's houses. When they got there, they found three red headed boys waiting for them, already floating above the ground on broomsticks. "Hey Elliot!" the three Weasley boys' shouted as they carefully dismounted their brooms. "Let's play!" Ellie and Ginny shouted as they got onto their brooms. "Ok. So we need a Keeper, two Beaters, and three Chasers. The Keeper and the Beaters can be on one team and the Chasers can be on the other," Fred said, gesturing towards the three Quidditch hoops at one end of the field. "Elliot, you can be keeper," George said. "And you and Fred will obviously be the Beaters," Ginny said, rolling her eyes at George. Ellie laughed. Fred, George, and Elliot were going into their fourth year at Hogwarts together and they were best friends who did everything together. Ron, who was a year older than Ginny and Ellie, was about to start his second year at the School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Ginny and Ellie would begin their first year at Hogwarts in just a week. Ellie grinned widely, as she kicked off the ground. She couldn't wait to go to Hogwarts. She had watched her brother enter Platform 9 3/4 for three years and she couldn't wait to begin herself. Her brother and all the Weasleys were in Gryffindor. Ginny was sure she would join her family, but Ellie was unsure of where she would end up. Of course, she wanted to be with her best friend in Gryffindor, but her mother had also been in Ravenclaw, making Ellie wonder if she would follow in her mother's footsteps. As the Quaffle came to her, though, Ellie pushed her thoughts about Hogwarts into the back of her mind and focused on playing. She figured that no matter what happened with the Sorting, her and Ginny would always be best friends.
