The Shadow

“This is the case of the shadow death,” Said the detective into his recorder. “Now I want you to tell me everything that happened down at the beach last night.”
“You won’t believe me,” I said. The detective looked at me as if I had lost it, but it was the truth no one would believe me. If I told him the truth, I would end up in some kind of insane asylum. The detective didn’t say a word he just stared at me waiting for me to speak. “Why are you calling it the shadow death no one died they just went insane.”
“It’s just a catchy name,” he replayed smoothly.
“It will scare people,” I argued.
“Are you going to cooperate or not?” he asked obviously getting annoyed with my attitude. I thought for a moment and then said.
“Not,” I got up out of my seat and made a b-line for the door. The detective reached for his tazer little did he know that I had it. I am a good pickpocket, which can be a good and a bad thing; in this case, it was both. I ran out of the police station and shot across the street. I made a couple of turns here and there. Although, that didn’t really matter, I knew where I was going. I was going to the last place anyone would think to find me, a place where I could clear my head and think about what had just happened. I was heading toward Silver Creek Beach.
When I got to the beach, I went over to my favorite spot to think on the bluffs. I sat down and decided to think things through a little. My name is Amara Hekate. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. I am 15 years old. I just survived something impossible. I shouldn’t be alive but I am. I have been acting like a detective all day. I just ran away from the police. I am probably going to jail for that.
“STOP!” I cried. I have to stop that I am going to scare myself and right now I need to review what just happened. Might as well start from the beginning.
