Chapter 1

Consequences, My Dear

by: YouAndI
Scarlett woke up on a warm, autumn day. The maid, Jackie, made her bed and arranged her clothes for the day. After a short, cool shower, Scarlett dresses in her new maroon dress. She reaches for her jeweled brush and gently brushes out tangles in her long, blonde hair. Jackie blow dries her hair and when she's finished, Scarlett's hair is silky smooth and her bangs are clipped back. Scarlett walks down the long, red carpetted staircase to find the chef, Walton, laying out breakfast: Waffles with a strawberry topping and a side of fresh raspberries. Starving, Scarlett takes a seat at the glass table and eats here meal. She kindly thanks Walton and slips on here black flats.
"Oh Scarlett, my dear! I have amazing news for you, dear. Your father and I have arranged for you to marry Prince Tucker tomorrow!" Scarlett's mother, Queen Pearl, exclaims jusr as Scarlett is walking out the door.
"Mother! I know I am a princess, and princesses must marry princes, but I have no particular interest in Prince Tucker. None what so ever!" Scarlett says back.
"Scarlett, you will marry the prince and you will be happy. If you don't, we'll....we'll, um..." Queen Pearl thinks for a moment.
"Banish her!" King Quincey, Scarlett's father, yells.
"Ah, yes, that'll do. You will be banished from the kingdom if you do not marry the prince!" Queen Pearl happily exclaims. Scarlett is extremely startled by the consequence.
"Well, mother, I guess this means good-bye." Scarlett bravely whispers in her mother's ear. Scarlett races up the stairs and grabs her favorite Coach luggage bag. She packs all of her favorite outfits - which is 70% of her wardrobe. She fits in a brush, hair styling products. 8 pairs of shoes, a cell phone charger, and a warm blanket in her bag. She manages to carry it down the steps. She looks at her mother's face, which is pale from her daughter's response. Scarlett slips on a jacket and kisses her mother's cheek. She stuffs food into a compartment in her bag. She fits over $20,000 in her wallet. She adds her cell phone in her coat pocket. Without a single good-bye to anyone, Scarlett walks out of the castle and finds her horse, Eliot. She puts her baggage in the carriage attatched to Eliot, and sits in the carriage herself. She commands Eliot to start walking. Scarlett and her horse exit the castle. She looks back at her home, and then looks forward, secretly worried for her life.
After 3 days of traveling, Scarlett awakes to nothing but fields. She heaves a heavy sigh and snacks on nuts she packed. Eliot turns a sharp corners and Scarlett's wallet topples out. She lets out a yelp and tries to catch it, but is a second too late. She watches it sink to the bottom of a deep pond. She continues looking forward.
"Looks like I'm poor." Scarlett says to herself. A group of men in black startle her and grab her luggage. They throw it in a carriage. Scarlett jumps onto Eliot and rides him away until she is far, far away. She finds them shelter under a tree and rests for a while.
"I'm poor, I'm dirty, I'm hungry, and I have only the clothes I'm wearing!" She shouts, beginning to sob. A man on a horse rides by. He commands the horse to take steps back, and he looks into Scarlett's turquoise eyes. He smiles, and Scarlett smiles back, realizing it's Prince Tucker!
"Madam Scarlett! Bonjur! Why are you out here, looking like a mess?" The prince asks, puzzled. She explains everything to him, hoping he won't be hurt that she won't marry him. "What?! They arranged a marriage for us? Thats horrid! Lets return you at once. Get on your horse and follow me." The prince says bravely. Scarlett does as she's told. She explains how she lost everything and tells of the men in black. The prince tells her she'll be safe soon.
They arrive at the castle. Scarlett runs to her mother and father. She holds them tightly and tells of her unfortunate travels. They allow her to come home and immediately fix her up.
"Prince Tucker, thank you oh so much for saving me. I could've died out there, and you saved me. If you'd like, I will agree to marrying you now..." Scarlett whispers to the prince. Pleased, the prince agrees and gives her a peck on the lips. The two marry the next day and live in the castle together, neither one forgetting the day Scarlett was saved.
THE END.
