Chapter 1

Makeup

Surprisingly, I woke up early for the first day of school. Perhaps it was the rumor of a new hot guy, or I was excited to see my friends again. Either way, I woke up early and made the most of it.

I walked into the bathroom and surveyed myself in the mirror. I was tall and skinny, so much that people called me aneorexic. Small hands, small feet, a slightly chubby face, and natural green eyes. Pink lips, pale skin, thick eyelashes were my best features, in my opinion.

I rolled her eyes at myself, and opened a drawer in my makeup compartment. I searched around, looking for the foundation, and foundation brush. Finding it at the very bottom, I rubbed the brush over the foundation, and started applying.

Halfway done, right at that awkward moment when you look freaky, a voice sounded from the doorway. "Mm, sexiness," Damien joked. "Thanks, Mr. Sarcasm," I said, rolling my eyes and finishing my face. "No seriously. Love the new 'do," he said. "What 'do?" I asked, eyes widening.

He guestered towards the back of my head, and I grabbed a mirror, angling it to see my hair. "Oh god," I said upon seeing the tangled mess that was my hair. I must have not brushed it before bed.

"That's going to take me forever to brush," I groaned. "Let me do it," Damien offered, moving into the bathroom and picking up a brush. "Thanks Dame," I said, grabbing concealer and applying it under and around my eyes. I rubbed it in with a makeup wedge, as Damien watched.

Putting back the concealer I grabbed the pressed powder and brushed it over my face. I put on blush, light enough to be invisible. Smudged black eyeliner on the lashlines. Dark brown eyeshadow, fading out. A bit of black eyeshdow in the middle of the brown. White eyeliner on the waterline to make my eyes look bigger. Mascara on my lashes, glued on fakes and I was done.

"Why do you wear so much makeup?" Damien asked, eyes meeting mine in the mirror. "Why do you wear clothes?" I countered, plugging in my zebra striped straightener. "'Cause it'd be just awkward if I went without them," Damien answered. "Same for me without makeup. Just awkward," I said. "That's not what I think," Damien muttered, with a last stroke to my now tangle-free hair.

"Awwh. That's sweet, Dame," I told him, starting to straighten my hair. "That's me. Sweet Dame," he joked.

I smiled. I quickly straightened my hair, deciding to leave it unteased today. I added a pink bow in my bangs, and a black bow on the left side of my head. I patted down my hair, and turned to Damien, smiling. "Let's go,"
