Chapter 1
Hello London, Hello Boys, Hello Hogwarts!
You woke up on a clear Saturday morning to an empty bedroom. Well, empty...besides all the full cardboard boxes. You, your parents and your 4 brothers moved from France to London after your father had gotten a new job in the Ministry of Magic. He didn't talk about it much, but you were fine with that. You were the only one in the house who had their own bedroom, since you were the only one out of your siblings that was a girl. You oldest brother Jacob (19) shared a room with your youngest brother Alex (13) and your two twin brothers James and Caleb (17) lived in the attic. They have always been real pranksters, so your mom didn't want them to sleep on the same level as her.
You stretched and sat up in bed. You took your hair out of its messy bun and put in back into a not as messy one. You got out of bed in your basketball shorts and baggy t-shirt and walked down to the kitchen. "She's alive!!!" Your mother said as you went to get a bowl of cereal and sat down at the kitchen table. You and your parents were apparently the only ones awake. "Where are the boys?" you ask. "Still asleep I guess. It's awful having 5 teenagers, you know. Thank heaven I only have one year of it. Jacob will be 20 next year, you know." "Yea, that's crazy." you respond. "Luckily Dumbledore is accepting Jacob even though he's too old. I think he needs another year of training before he tries to go out in the world on his own..." she trailed off and started talking to herself while she took your dishes and started to wash them. "Rose, can you go wake your brothers up? We've got something for all of you." Your dad asked you. You almost forgot he was there he was being so quiet.
You obeyed and trudged up 2 staircases to the attic and opened the door. "Jammmessss, Caaaaleeebbb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" You said. Neither of them moved. You went and started jumping on James' bed. You were always closest to the twins. James' head quickly popped up. "What do you want Rose?!?" he said in a groggy voice. "Mom's downstairs. She said shes got something for us." James pushed you off the bed and hopped up. "Come on Caleb, Up!" James said. They both got up and went downstairs. You went down the next flight of stairs to wake up Alex and Jacob. They were usually easier to wake up. You walked in to see them already awake, just sitting and talking. "Come on boys, mom needs us downstairs." you said. "Alright, we'll be down in a minute." said Alex, annoyed. You rolled your eyes and went down the final flight of stairs and took a seat at the kitchen table along with the rest of your family.
"Alright kids, I've got all of your Hogwarts letters for you!!" Your mom said, excitedly. The twins high-fived, Alex looked excited and Jacob looked worried.Your mom handed out all the letters and You opened yours. You read it thoroughly until you got to the part where it explained about the uniforms. A smile spread across your face. They had a separate section explaining what boys had to wear. Boys. You weren't used to this since you had gone to an all girls school and you were extremely excited. Your head popped up when your mom said "Okay now kids go get ready and we'll be on our way to Diagon Alley to get our supplies." All of you went to your rooms to get ready and in 20 minutes you were on your way to Diagon Alley using your common method of travel, floo powder.
You arrived at Diagon Alley, eager to buy all of your books and such. A little while after trying to find your way around with your family, you saw something strange. Another family. It was very big, and very cluttered. Like yours. Something else was strange, too. It had Two parents, 4 boys and a girl. it even had a pair of twins! 'How weird...' You thought. The family was almost exactly the same, accept instead of all having chocolate brown hair, they all had fiery red hair. You brushed off the weirdness and kept going. After a while, your mother gave you some money and sent you off to buy your uniform. While getting your robe fitted, you overheard what looked to be two first years talking about Hogwarts houses. From what it sounded like you didn't want to be caught dead in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Slytherin didn't sound so bad... they didn't talk about any other house, so you figured that was it. After getting your uniform you walked over the the book shop to pick up your books. While going around to pick up all the different books you heard a voice that stopped you in your tracks. It was mad sexy. "Bloody hell, Hermione. How many books did you read this summer?" you heard. You turned around to glance at him and your heart had to have skipped a beat. He was a boy from the red head family. He looked about your age and was standing with another girl and boy who were your age, too. After a few seconds of staring, you locked eyes with the other boy who had jet-black hair and big round glasses. You quickly turned to look at your list, your face burning with embarrassment. After purchasing all your books, you went back to meet with your family.
That night you couldn't sleep. Tomorrow was the day. Hogwarts! You were so excited. A few hours after finally falling asleep, you woke up the next morning. You got dressed and headed downstairs, ready for the day. Around 10, you all headed toward Kings Cross. You glanced at your tickets, confused. 9 3/4? Your whole family was confused. After a few minutes of pondering, you dad sprinted away, and disappeared through a wall. Your mother shrugged and went through the wall, too. The rest of your family followed. The first thing you saw was a big, bright red train. It was awesome. After a bit of saying goodbye, you and your brothers boarded the train and got a compartment all for yourselves. You still had 15 minutes before the train left so you just kicked back and relaxed. Through the compartment window you saw the boy with the big glasses and the girl with the frizzy hair you saw the other day enter the compartment across the hall. Maybe that meant the boy would come, too! And a few minutes later, he did. He walked past your compartment and glanced in, then stared. You pretended not to notice, and you knew your brothers didnt since they were playing with some silly fireworks. The boy looked extremely confused, just as you did when you saw his family. It seemed as though he shrugged it off and entered the compartment across the hall from you.
At last, the train had arrived. You and all your brothers got off and went with the first years, even though none of you were their age. After a few minutes of traveling you entered a big hall with four tables. It seemed as though there were 4 houses, instead of three like you had thought. A woman called Mccgonagall. She had a dusty hat and started sorting people into their houses. While waiting to be sorted, you noticed the whole red head family was seated at the table covered with a red table cloth. After all the first years had been sorted, it was finally your families turn. They started with Jacob and he was sorted into something called Gryffindor. He sat down at the table draped in red. In fact, all of your brothers were sorted into Gryffindor...finally it was your turn. You went up and the hat was placed on your head. "Another Dawson kid?" The hat said, in a raspy voice. "When's the last time we had an exchange student?" The hat continued. You ignored it while it talked to itself and thought "Oh please put me with my brothers so I can be in with that cute red head boy..." "Cute red head boy???" The hat repeated, probably loud enough for the room to hear. You quickly looked down, hot with embarrassment. "Well so be it. GRYFFINDOR!" The hat chanted. You quickly got up and sat next to Alex and the rest of your brothers. You looked down the table to see the red head boy talking to his brothers and sister and they all looked at your family. They seemed weirded out as well. You glanced at the twins to see them wink at you. Great. They probably heard the sorting hat. You looked down, hot with embarassment. This was a great way to start the school year.
