Valerie's POV
As I went through the barrier, I saw a steaming red train and nearly jumped from excitement. I was going back to Hogwarts, for my fifth year. I knew I could do anything this year, as long as I had my bestfriends, Jassie and Dakota, with me.
"Jandles!" I heard Jassie yelling towards me. I saw her bright red hair before anything else, because she was so tall.
"Ginger!" I yelled, running to hug her. Since her parents were Muggles, and mine were wizards, we didn't get to hang out much during the summer. After I hugged her, I looked around the platform. "Have you seen Pepper?"
"Nope, I just got here a few minutes before you. But she should be here any minute." Jassie said. Just then, Jass and I were wrapped into a hug.
"Jandles! Ginger! I missed you so much!" Dakota said, happily.
"We missed you too, Pepper! But we better go find a compartment." Jass said. We lugged our trunks onto the train and found a compartment. As Jassie was talking about her 'Summer with the Muggles' (as we called it) there was a knock on the compartment door.
"Come on in." I called, not getting up from my seat. The door opened and there stood four boys.
"Hey Sirius, James, Remus, and Peter." I said, still not getting up. Jass and Dakota both said a quiet 'hi.'
"Hey Valerie, Jassie, and Dakota. Everywhere else is full, do you mind if we sit here?" Sirius asked, mostly to me.
"Hmmm, what do you think, Jass?" I asked, teasingly just to frustrate the boys.
"I don't know. What do you think, Kota?" She played along.
"What do you think, Val?" Dakota asked me. I tapped my finger on my chin for a long minute and then smiled and nodded. James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter sat down and began asking us about our summers. There was something about Sirius that I had always liked, but I had never told Jass and Kota.
