Missin' You(Hey There Arianna)
Luke! Arianna cried in a sleepy voice as she picked up the phone. Are you here? she asked in her tired, half-asleep haze. She heard his laugh.
No, baby he said quietly. Sorrow echoed in his voice. Arianna pulled herself into a sitting position in her bed and ran a hand through her hair. Light streamed through her blinds, colouring the room. She wondered if he saw the same light.
I miss you, she mumbled. She heard his tired sigh.
I miss you too, he said. No, I miss you more. She could hear his smile. She giggled, but it was forced. She couldn’t be happy right now. Not when the only thing that made her happy was a thousand miles away… I wrote you something.
You did? Her voice bounced with excitement. What?
Ok, one sec. She heard shuffling and bumping, and then the familiar chords of a song. Too familiar.
You didn’t write that! she cried, giggly. She heard him laugh quickly, but he didn’t reply.
*Hey there Arianna, whats it like in New York city, Im a thousand miles away but girl tonight you look so pretty, yes you do... *
Arianna's voice caught in her throat as she had the sudden urge to cry. She had no idea where it came from. Hey There Delilah was her pick-me-up song, the song she found herself listening to when she gave up on love or life in general. It made her smile, every time she heard it. She didn’t remember telling Luke.
As the song came to an end, She gave a loud applause. And the crowd goes wild! she cried.
You like?
I love.
I thought it would be the best way to tell you…
Tell me what?
That I miss you.
She tried to laugh, but it came out as a sob. She covered her mouth. Yeah, she said with a sniffle. This was getting too deep for her liking. She pulled away. Me too.
She hung up the phone before he could hear her sob. As soon as she did, she regretted it. Her fingers struggle to call him back.
Babe! he cried as soon as he answered. What was that?
That was mine.
Your what?
My way of telling you that I miss you.
Luke's voice softened. You’re a special one, aren’t you, he joked. Is that going to be a regular thing?
Depends.
On what?
How much you miss me.
To the moon and back.
I miss you more.
How much?
Cheekily, she hung up again. But this time, she was smiling...(:
Hope You Enjoyed.
