For anyone that got hit with irene, if you lost power, how long and how bad is the area you live in. i lost power on 8/28 at 6:45 in the morning and its 8/29 8:38 AM when im posting this

Well I was lucky enough not to lose power! I'm still surprised but I know in my state power outages were huge! I think this morning there are still more than 700,000 without power, I know my brother lost power at college and they are on a backup generator. But depending on which state your in or where you are hospitals and schools and like the capital are what need to have power first, small towns are last on the list. So if it hit you bad than it could be out for like days. Sorry! Hope ur safe!

I don't live anywhere near where Irene hit, but we felt the earthquake, and soon might be getting the leftovers of Irene..

There were several places that are only getting a lot of rain or whatnot (they're posting on blogs we at home read; they say they've gotten worse rainstorms naturally), and the towns are turning off the power. For no reason.

I know that there are towns in CT doing that, but thats because like the main power system is like underwater from flooding so for safety they turned it off. But i don't know thats just my state?

well i live in CT and luckily it didn't flood like most people thought it would. there was mostly big puddles in the streets and fallen trees.
@TeamCarlisle i got more wind than rain. we thought it was going to be worse.
@Good_Life thank you for praying. My power came back at about 8:15 last night. my mom and i were watching harry potter and the deathly hallows part 1 on her laptop when it came back on.
my brothers college had small black outs. other than that, everyone's fine.

@Magical_Flipflop_Ninja Really? No flooding where you are? I know the Farmington River is screwing up my town. But atleast its not in yours! I can't wait for all this to be over! Hope everyone is well:)

@FredWeasleyLove i didn't say we didn't get flooding, i just said that we didn't get it how we thought we were. Everyone here is fine, my mom works at a school and was supposed to start monday but is gonna start tomorrow. i was supposed have orientation today because im starting high school but they cancelled the rest of this week (my mom works in a different town). o well, that just means a longer summer :)
