Ripple_The_Llama: 09-07-2011 at 8:16 AMSend this to any writers you know of, not necessarily someone who struggles with writing, even skilled writers need help sometimes =D
SineDoloreActe: 09-07-2011 at 9:39 AMListen to epic music! Music from Two Steps From Hell, Audiomachine, Immediete Music, Position Music, and justmusic from movies always inspire me to write!
silly_old_bear: 09-07-2011 at 10:23 AMlisten to music, read, and watch tv.
Imperfect_and_Loving_it: 09-07-2011 at 12:54 PMLook for inspiration everywhere you go. Like in music, other books, movies, etc. (don't copy them of course! XD) then outline what you want to write it about so you have a plan for the future. But most importantly, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!!! if you do, it's hard to start writing the story again steadily. (I have learned this through many many many experiences....)
kindofagleek: 09-07-2011 at 2:25 PM-Whenever you get an idea, write it down. It doesn't matter if it's in a notebook or just a scrap of paper, as long as it gets written down. You can use those random notes to your advantage later on, even if you don't see a point for it now.
-Take ideas from other authors who read your story.
-If you're not feeling a story, give it up. That may not be conventional advice, but trust me. If your not, then chances are that the plot line may seemed forced and it won't be your best work.
ILove_MattSmith: 09-07-2011 at 4:17 PM-Write when you're feeling emotional. Sad, happy, angry, whatever - it works as a type of therapy for me. If I'm feeling angry, I'll go upstairs and write - for some reason, emotion really inspires me.
-Music. This was already said, but it really helps me a lot.
-Real-life experiences. Take something that happened to you at school earlier and twist it around a little to fit into the story.
-Don't be thinking, No, people won't like this while you're writing. All that matters is your opinion.
X_Free_As_The_Wolf_X: 09-07-2011 at 4:44 PM-The most powerful writing is when you're feeling a specific emotion. If you're writing when you're angry, sad, happy, etc, the writing will be at its pinnacle because that one specific emotion is easier to convey when the author is feeling it, too.
-Music is a huge inspiration, especially songs that touch the heart, Like Keep Holding on by Avril Lavigne, Here Comes Goodbye by Rascal Flatts, and so on. The best music to write to is either inspirational or heart-touching music.
X_Free_As_The_Wolf_X: 09-07-2011 at 4:45 PM-If you're writing in first person point of view, don't just write in that perspective. Become that person, and the feelings from the main character whom you are speaking through becomes all the more powerful and meaningful. Also, forms more of a connection between the main character and the reader.
-Write as if you mean it. Don't put it off, don't think it sucks, and don't let other people convince you otherwise. You write what you want to write, and that's what makes it so powerful.
MaddieGrace08: 09-07-2011 at 5:04 PMLive, Love, Eat, and Breathe your story. Have a basic idea where you want to go with the story before you write it, and add the details as you go along. "Don't put quotations in the middle of your story, like this."
"Enter a line, then write the dialoge."
Spell check makes such a difference, and more people will enjoy your story when things are spelled right and such.
Oh, and run-on sentences? The worst.
Avoid those at all costs. And have fun writing, like the other answer up there. ^
:)
TheCatAndTheRiceball: 09-07-2011 at 5:14 PMWrite what you want the story go to, then see if it meets it in the end.
That's what I do.
