The Warrior Dragon (A King Arthur Play)

Hello! A few people told me they'd be interested in reading this, so I decided to go ahead and post it ;)
Since it's not done, I'll be updating it, but the separations between the chapters will be a bit messed up, probably. So basically, if I run out of things to write, I'll put a cliffhanger or something and then stop the chapter.
So remember, all comments are appreciated. I promise not to be offended!
Here you go!

Chapter One

NARRATOR: Once, in a land called Camelot, there was a dragon warrior. He was very fierce, and he guarded - so it was told - a magnificent treasure chest filled with jewels and gold and everything else you can imagine. Whoever had this treasure could control the will of the dragon. Many men, and even a few women, have tried to fight the dragon and claim the treasure as their own. However, no one could beat the dragon. So, instead of becoming wealthy and victorious, they became the dragon’s lunch. In the valley below the dragon’s cave, there lived a brave king by the name of Arthur. He decided one day to meet with this dragon himself.

KING ARTHUR: James, go and get Ecthelion for me. I am riding up to meet the dragon today.

JAMES: Sir, do you think it wise? Many people have died because of this dragon, you know, and the people would be devastated if you were to become the dragon’s next meal…

ARTHUR: James, do as I say. I do not fear the dragon, and nor should you. Now, go get me Ecthelion and meet me in the main hall.

NARRATOR: James reluctantly went to fetch the king's sword, and quickly returned to find Arthur fastening his armor and readying his horse in the entry hallway of the castle.

JAMES: Your sword, sir.

ARTHUR: Thank you, James. (Arthur attaches sword to horse) Please tell Lady Guinevere that I shall be home within a days' time, and not to worry.

NARRATOR: And so King Arthur mounted his horse and rode out of the castle's main hall and into the twilight sky. A short time and many thoughts later, Arthur was riding up the hill towards the dragon's lair. Little did he know that he had awoken the dragon from his slumber.

DRAGON: Who dares to wake me from my slumber?

ARTHUR: It is I, King Arthur. I have come to propose a truce.

DRAGON: What type of truce may this be, human? And why should I waste time (in which I could be eating you) to hear it?

ARTHUR: Trust me; you would not want to eat me. You might find that I… taste a little bit odd today. Just hear me out.

DRAGON: (reluctantly) Alright, human. I shall listen to your "truce," if it should make you happy. Go on, now, talk!

ARTHUR: I would like you to stop terrorizing my people, and to find other things to eat. Or perhaps we could come to another compromise to make you happy as well?

DRAGON: Hmm. But what will I eat? I will have no food in return for your citizens being safe! I do not care about your people. This deal only harms me!

ARTHUR: Maybe you shouldn’t eat people, then. Become a vegetarian.

Dragon glares at Arthur and snorts

DRAGON: As if! You know, I really am quite hungry, and it does appear that you would be a very hearty meal…

ARTHUR: You will not eat me, dragon.

DRAGON: Where does this confidence come from? Why do you think I would falter in eating another pathetic mortal human? I could eat you in a heartbeat.

ARTHUR: (laughs) Yet you are not! You sit here and continue to bicker with a “pathetic mortal human” that is, admittedly, much less stronger and smaller than you!

NARRATOR: The dragon roared in anger and frustration, for he realized that Arthur was right. He thrashed his head around with his eyes closed. When he opened them and stood still again, he noticed Arthur was returning to his previous position, as if he had just moved.

DRAGON: Enough! I will eat you now, and you will have gotten what you deserved!

NARRATOR: And the dragon moved to lunge forward and eat the king.
