Animal Awareness (CAUTION)
Chapter 1
Can't We Be Humane?
Please repost this so we can raise awareness about inhumane treatment on farms
On farms, animals are killed brutally and inhumanely. Farms cram them into crates, the workers throw and shove them into the crates. Breaking many of their bones. They inject them with hormones and many other chemicals just because people want more meat. They're even bred for size because of the high demand.
This causes them to be so overweight that their bones can no longer support their immense weight. Chickens are shackled upside down on a conveyor belt so their heads can be sliced of by a blade. Some aren't even lucky enough for that and get dropped into the boiling hot water; alive and conscious. Sometimes farms skip the slicing process and just drop them into the boiling hot water. In Vermont pigs are slices, shocked and skinned live.
They keep their animals in small shelters, with little to none water. Never to see daylight, crammed together. They even cut off their beaks to keep them from fighting. This causes many problems. Infections and unable to eat or drink. Many die from starvation before they can be killed. This isn't even the worst. Much more then this happens. People no longer care for animals. They just want meat.
But you can help! You can go vegetarian or vegan. But if you don't want to you can buy organic meats. You can even find cruelty-free meats! Please help stop this inhumane, brutal, barbaric treatment of animals.

I do agree with the animal awareness but there is no way I could go vegan. In my family, its impossible. But, I can eat less meat. And not all farms do all that. I live about 5 or 6 miles away from like 4 or 5 farms that surround us. And I've been to each one and they love their animals and they NEVER treat their animals badly. And I'm really good with animals too. But thank you for giving us information that we can pass on to friends and family. And I will tell everyone I know who will listen.
I promise :)
Thank you so much! I agree with your statement. If those farms by you don't then I think its better to eat from there if you're going to eat meat.
Don't advertise for people to go vegan. If people put their money in small, local, 'organic' (which just means they feed the animals what they're supposed to be eating, in an environment that is healthy for the animals) farms, then they are telling those FACTORY FARMERS [not just a farm. Farms and Factory Farming are different things entirely] that they are not winning the game by doing this.
Big names like McDonald's and Tyson are the ONLY reason CAFOs still exist. They don't exist,
I understand that. I'm not telling them they need to go vegan. As you can see on the bottom I said organic meat. I'm going to do another story on vegetables and farmers market it.
the problem doesn't exist. Simple as that.
Ok :) Thanks. And your welcome :) Sadly, one of the farms is closing up soon. I don't even know who's buying the place. And I have to admit, that eating the meat from there is probably a REALLY good idea. Haha :)
Now Tyson is the leader in the chicken abuse industry, holding the majority of the chicken houses across the US. Chickens, a point you didn't point out that I thought was necessary, are now bred for the size of the breast meat--ever seen commercials where they talk about 100% white breast meat? Because of this demand, chickens have double, even triple the normal size breasts, and that more than anything is what keeps them from moving anywhere--the weight is too great. They also have made it
Also as you can see I said they are injected with hormones in chemicals. But I did not add bred for size. Thank you, I will do that.
so that these chickens grow to the full size in half the time or less of what it takes for a regular chicken to grow to full size. Horrifying, isn't it?
Have you watched Food Inc.? Is that what brought these postings about? If you have, you should definitely watch King Corn as well. It's a real eye-opener to how much power corn has in the American industry, power that it shouldn't have.
No, I have always known about this. But someone was talking about McDonalds and KFC and it made me write this.
Alright, whether a person is against animal testing or not, it's impossible not to use it. Even products that say "not tested on animals" every ingredient in that container has previously been tested on animals to ensure that they aren't poisonous. The combination, on the other hand....
Animal testing is necessary, as horrific as many will say that is. We cannot test certain things on humans, because regardless of anyone's beliefs humans are more important than rats. Rats and small animals
I completely disagree. I believe everyone and everything with life (besides plants) are equally important. Race, gender, beliefs, and species. No one is better then anyone or anything. And there are alternatives to animal test.
Please tell me these alternative methods? Are we going to test the latest project on a palm tree, and see how it does? It just doesn't work that way.
I love animals. I have two cats that I just adore. I don't like the idea that there are cats and dogs being used in testing facilities. I'm sure there are rat and ginuea pig lovers who feel the same. But what are we supposed to be doing? Humans are more important than animals when it comes down to it. There are many reasons why--but it doesn't mean
that we should maltreat animals because of it, I'm not saying that. But will you save your sister or your dog when your house is burning down? If you could only save one, which would you save? On an ordinary day in our ordinary lives, we are on the same level as our pets--though they get loads more luxury, getting to sleep in all the time!--but when it comes to hundreds of millions of humans lives over a few animals, I know what I will choose.
Why can't I save both? I love my dog and I love my sister. I'm not going to let my sister die over my dog but I'm not going to let my dog die. I would save both. I can't live without both. I would be equally sad if one of them died.

I didn't say you wouldn't be unequally saddened.
I'll check the link out and see if it's just junk, like usual....I've been through this with many, many other people, on Facebook and elsewhere, and I've seen a lot of crap used as evidence, unfortunately, to back up a cause/case. x.x
do have similar metabolisms (I believe it is a Golden Ginuea Pig or something that has it nearly identical?), and their naturally shorter lifespans allow us to see what happens over time before we hand it out to everyone.
Rats and mice live maximum five years in confinement. In the wild, they live much shorter lives. Rats living for five years die slow painful deaths of tumours--they naturally occur.
its horrible what they do to animals...its just as bad as what PETA does...
Last Year PETA killed 95% of all the animals brought to its shelter
99% of Cats were killed and 96% of Dogs. This does not count the amount of animals killed upon pick-up.
PETA claims to want to spare them from brutal life- testing, etc..but PETA also believes that homes (even loving ones) are something animals should be spared from. PETA spokespeople are biased. Some have leather and fur in their clothing lines an
d others sit on leather furniture and are also KFC and Burger King spokespeople.
Is that right?! NO!
ALL ANIMAL CRUELTY SHOULD BE STOPPED! that INCLUDES PETA's barbaric treatment of animals.
I do not agree with PETA on everything. I only agree with their alternatives to killing and testing. I agree with them that inhumane treatment of animals should stop. But if there killing them, I believe they're doing it humanely.
actually they aren't killing them any better than pounds. Either way its not fair.
I agree that inhumane treatment of animals should stop...what have they ever done to us?
I agree.
I don't know. We have the technology to give them humane pain-free deaths but instead we put it into killing them inhumanely because of the high demand.
Exactly. If we can why shouldn't we?! Animals have feelings and should have rights...If you wouldn't do it to your dog/cat/parrot/ferret/pig/etc. you shouldn't do it to a farm animal
I agree with you 1,000%!
Right, so I looked at the link--nearly, if not all, of what was mentioned was solely about drugs and disorders. I realize there is animal testing done there, but the majority is on humans, not animals. So there is no alternative to what else there is in the world besides drugs. There are plenty of other items in the world that are on every shelf that aren't drugs that need testing before it can go on the shelf.
We may not have a solid way of doing it yet. But we can if people put more time and money into it, instead of just testing on animals. If a human volunteers I believe that is more humane then capturing animals.
