Song of the morning: Why the h e ll am I still doing this?

I silently slid out of the bed, and walked over to my room, checking on Jamie first. Still sleeping. Good. I grab a towel, and get in the bathroom. I lock the door, and get undressed. I turn the water to warm, and step in. I felt the water pour down my body. Today, Alex would be returning. After a while of letting the water soak in, I wrap the towel around my body, and walk out of the bathroom. "Hey..." Leo whispers, pushing his lips against mine. I smile through the kiss, and pull back. "I got to go dry up." I whisper. "Oh....can I help?" He asks, grinning. I roll my eyes, and got to my room.

A few hours later, after Alex came back. "They kicked you out? Wow." She said, chuckling. "They called earlier, and said that I can come back tomorrow. They're hiding something." Jamie says, suspiciously. "Oh, we can relate to that-" I elbow Leo in the stomach. "Hmm?" Alex asks, not hearing Leo. "Nothing. He didn't say anything." I say quickly. She looks at me for a moment, then shook her head. She disappeared in her room. Tomorrow, Justin would be back. Day after, Selene. Wow. Just wow.

A few days later
My life is great. I'm also drowning in sarcasm. Everyone is back, the house is packed, and tomorrow I have to go to work again. Great. I sit on the couch, and pull Rex up on my lap, stroking his back as I wait for everyone to wake up. Justin walked out of his room, happier than ever. "What's with you?" I ask, after he sat down, newspaper in front of him. "Oh...nothing." Yay. More secrets in this place. One by one everyone joined us, Selene being the last one. I looked at how all of us were dressed in the hospital scrubs. I chuckle. Selene walked out with a grin. Not good. "Guess what?" She asked, standing in front of all of us. "You finally found the TV remote?" Leo tried. She scoffed. "No, tomorrow night, all the interns are having a party!" I look around to see Justin still reading, Leo shrugging, and Alex sighing. "This time, actual drinks are allowed. NOT just kool-aid." We all laugh. Last "party" we were stuck there listening to Max tell his childhood stories while devouring salty pretzels. Not exactly fun. We all talk a bit longer, and start making our way to the hospital. I was sorting some papers at a reception desk, bored out of my mind. I was the only one Max would send here. "Hey sexy." I groan. I knew that voice. "What do you want Zane?" He whispers in my ear. "You. Me-" I cut him short. "In a bed. You always say that." I turn around to face him. "Oh, feisty today. Haven't seen you in a while. Got bored without you here." I let out a long, frustrated breath, determined to keep it together. "Look. Zane. You're a handsome, grown man. I'm a lady, who you happened to work with. We got together, had our fun, then broke up. You do know what breaking up means, right?" "Only that there's always a chance to get back together." I glare at him. He smirks, and holds eye contact with me. Zane: A dirty-minded, black haired, brown-eyed, intern. Who also happens to be my ex. I don't even want to know what's going in that fantasy filled mind of his. I turn back around, straighten some papers, file them, and walk away. He followed. "What are you? A dog? Do you expect me to give you a treat if you follow me?" He chuckles. I notice Leo farther away in front of me. "Only if it's wet, sweet and-" I cut him off. "Listen. And listen close." I held onto the front of his shirt. "Say one more word about me near him, and you're getting spayed." He winces. I let go of my grip. I start walking to Leo. I heard Zane follow. Cr-a-p. "Hey. What's up? Ditched filing folders?" Leo asked, brushing his shoulder against mine. "Not really, I was done. Just trying to ditch a person." "Oh...did I do something?" I laugh, and start walking with him, Zane on the other side of me. I felt the anger boil up in me. "Dude, Zane, what are you even doing here?" I ask him. "I'm just going to the cafeteria. Sorry if that offends you in any way. " He takes the sharp turn towards the food palace, as I call it. "What was that about?" Leo asks. I shake my head and sigh.

"Hey __, er....can I ask you something?" Selene asks, after I set my stuff down from work. "Sure. Go ahead." We were the only ones here, Leo, Alex, and Justin nowhere to be found. "So you know how we've all been single, and loving it for a while now?" I nod slowly. "I'm getting sick of that. But, I don't want a boyfriend." She looks at me, then I understood. She's bored out of her mind. "Do you know any cute guys, that aren't looking for an actual relationship?" I sit down, and turn the TV on. I saw a guy in a commercial, who had the same hairstyle as-----/Zane/. "Selene, I know just the guy."
At a bar, where I told Zane to come meet me with Selene
"Selene, meet Zane. Zane, this is Selene." I step back, and watch. "Hi." Selene says, in her strong, "you don't mess with me" voice. I smile. "Hey." He kisses her hand. She blushes. I turn around to leave. I didn't really want to interfere. "Wait!" I turn around. "Thanks." Selene whispers. I respond with a tired smile. I was dead tired, and dreading to go to sleep. "Where's Selene?" Justin and Leo asked in unison. "Oh....she's..../busy/ tonight." I respond.
