Shadows

Im losing my mind. The shapes in my room havent stopped dancing since they started when i was 6 years old. I tried to explain them to my parents but they always told me they were just shadows. but why were they there every night, doing the same things. I tried taking my nightlight out so there wasn't any light to make shadows, but they were still there. At first i was scared of them, but now i am used to them. It has been ten years and they still continue. I know their dance routine by heart now and sometimes I dance with them. It seems to make them more jubilant than normal when I do that.
Tonight I was going to dance with them all night, but when I turned my lights off, they didn't appear. I waited all night for them, but they never showed. I was worried that something may have come for them, or maybe they didn't want me anymore. I was sad and I couldn't sleep all night, except suddenly there was a new figure dancing, but it was dancing in a scary empowering way and it made me cower under my blankets, it made its way closer...
