This is shocking...
Please repost this so we can raise awareness about inhumane treatment on farms
On farms, animals are killed brutally and inhumanely. Farms cram them into crates, the workers throw and shove them into the crates. Breaking many of their bones. They inject them with hormones and many other chemicals just because people want more meat.
This causes them to be so overweight that their bones can no longer support their immense weight. Chickens are shackled upside down on a conveyor belt so their heads can be sliced off by a blade. Some aren't even lucky enough for that and get dropped into the boiling hot water; alive and conscious. Sometimes farms skip the slicing process and just drop them into the boiling hot water. In Vermont pigs are sliced,shocked and skinned live.
They keep their animals in small shelters, with little to none water. Never to see daylight, crammed together. They even cut off their beaks to keep them from fighting. This causes many problems. Infections and unable to eat or drink. Many die from starvation before they can be killed. This isn't even the worst. Much more then this happens. People no longer care for animals. They just want meat.
But you can help! You can go vegetarian or vegan. But if you don't want to you can buy organic meats. You can even find cruelty-free meats! Please help stop this inhumane,brutal, barbaric treatment of animals.

Always happy to support a good cause! :) So many people don't understand what these poor animals suffer
RE: IloveSmileys comment: So many people dont understand what our children are suffering. I myself was in the hospital when I was a kid and, man, those constant IVs hurt! They were always doing something to me. I was in the hospital on the 4th of July and on my bday! And later, I supported children rather than animals. I did a toy drive in 2nd grade for children in the hospital that don't get new toys of their own!
My dad's been to animal processing plants(part of his job as an engineer I suppose) and ever since then I haven't really eaten too much processed meat. I still love it(meat), but when he told me how they...erm, dispatch of the animals, it kinda shocked me.

No offense, but honestly We have children on the street, homeless. And if, they do have a home, a bunch of them ( I actually know one) are being abused. And all we care about these days are smelly animals. Animals can wait! WHAT ABOUT THOSE POOR CHILDREN THAT ARE HOMELESS AND NEED SPONSORS TO GIVE THEM HOMES AND SUPPORT THEM!!!!!!!!!!! Do you think, that, just maybe, we could give these poor helpless children homes of love, rather than animals? Humans are supposed to domain over animals!!!!!!
I agree. Everyone is so hyped up about animals (and I do hate that they are so mistreated and nothing is done, don't get me wrong), but we don't care at all when children are aborted, abused, and otherwise neglected. It's disgusting how little we care for our own kind.
Support the children, and maybe I'll support the cause for animals. But right now, when Rover gets food without chemicals and processed sh#t, and our children are packed with HFCS and all that processed stuff we don't give our
pets, I honestly can't care at all about the animals.

We have MSG, High fructose corn syrup, xanthum gum and all sorts of other things in our diet that are HORRIBLE for us! They even put CHLORINE AND FLORIDE in our TAP water, and Chlorine, chloride and floride are toxic to our bodies.
It just angers me that people just LOVE animals more than us people!

And animals are supposed to be eaten!! Think about it people, if we don't shoot deer to eat them, they will over-populate and die of starvation-a much more brutal way to die than being shot. And its not like we don't use the animals. We use the meat, fur, and sometimes bones! And we give the parts that humans don't eat to our dogs.
ilovesmileys, what do you MEAN "People no longer care for animals"?! We have more animal support these days then we do CHILD support!!!! When people kill animals to eat them, they either shoot them in the heart, or chop their heads off, which are both instantaneous ways to die!
I'm not using the word "stupid" in the bad way, I'm saying just not very smart when I say this:
Animals are stupid. They don't know that they are about to die!
So it really isn't inhumane. Humans depend on meat.

Hey! No need to tear my throat out! I'm only trying to support a good cause. Sure, there are kids dying on the street. Sure, humans are supposedly more important than the animals that rely so heavily on. Sure, HUMANS ARE ALWAYS GOING TO EAT MEAT! I'm not saying anything against all that. All I'm saying is that, the power to stop this disgusting treatment of some animals is in our reach. We can't end world poverty, but we can stop abusing our resources!

And, if there is a more important good cause, it would be HUMANS!! We need to take care of our own kind!!! Have you seen animals in the wild? The pride of lions looks out for its own kind!! Not for the zebras and antelopes it eats! It looks out for the weaker of its kind!

Okay, so maybe humans are superior to all other animals, but doesn't that superiority leave us with a level of responsibility?
And as for the whole "taking care of our own kind" thing. Seriously? The amount of damage that we inflict on so many animals, and also the fact that we use an awful lot of them for food/transport/ take your pick, there's so many damn things!!
Surely, we should protect and preserve our resources.
