Something thought-provoking....I hope! :D

So a friend of mine on Facebook brought this topic up--why she doesn't identify as Pagan, because Pagan only means 'someone who does not follow one of the Abrahamic faiths.' By that definition, Wiccans and Kemetics are lumped in with Buddhism, Hinduism, Atheism....Basically, Pagan just tells others what you aren't rather than what you are. A Kemetic's beliefs are very different from an Asatruer, for example, but Heathen or Pagan doesn't do anything to point that out. What do you think?

XD Sorry. Just, since Pagan is defined as what you aren't (you aren't a follower of God/Jesus/etc.), do you want to still be called that? Or would you identify as something else.

Aha, yes, that is actually pretty confusing to me :P Then again, I guess you could say maybe I'm a bit new to the whole concept. Now, onto my opinion. It's obviously biased, which is completely unfair to all Heathens and Pagans and all the others who don't follow the Abrahamic beliefs, as you put it. And obviously unfair. It should be changed to the satisfaction of all, not just those who are of a specific religious path.

That's an interesting question. By that definition, I'd also be called Pagan, but I wouldn't call myself Pagan.. I can't think of anything else to say, my brain isn't working today. :D
