The Tornado of 2003
Hello everybody! This is a story based on the tornado I was in when I was 3 years old. This tornado nearly destroyed our little town. These are all made up characters. I didn't describe their looks because I want you to imagine them however you want! Please comment!
Chapter 4
June 22, 2003, morning
Place: Ruskin Nebraska
Day: June 22, 2003
Time: 9:55 a.m.
Person: Hannah Anderson
Hannah felt bad. She had totally forgotten about the day at the mall with MaryBeth, she hoped she wasn't too mad at her.
"Come on Hannah lets go!" yelled her little brother Chris from outside the bathroom.
"Chris if we need to get to the waterpark at noon we don't have to leave until 11:00!" said Hannah back at him.
"Ya, but we need to get there early to beat the crowd."
"There won't be a crowd on a Tuesday afternoon Chris"
"Oh fine,"
Hannah smiled. She loved her little brother but she also lovwed beating him at arguments and proving him wrong, like any older sister is to her brother.
She walked out of the bathroom and into the kitchen where her dad was packing swimsuits and towels.
Just then she got a text from MaryBeth.
"OMG!!! I've got a date with Ryan!"
Hannah replied back, "That is totally AWESOME!"
"IKR???" replied MaryBeth
"Hey I've gtg" said Hannah.
"K bye!" said MaryBeth

After about an hour at the waterpark Hannah noticed that it wasn't as fun as it was when she was eight. The waterslides seemed slower, the wavepool didn't seem to be as wavy and the lazy river was way too slow. On the contrary Chris was having the time of his life. Screaming down the waterslides, bouncing everywhere in the wave pool, and just loving the lazy river.
"So much for growing up." grumbled Hannah.
Even though the park closed at five, they had to leave at 4:00 due to rain and lightning.
After that Chris begged their dad to eat at Red Lobster until he finally said yes.
"Yes!" said Chris "I haven't been there since-" Chris faltered for a second, "Well since mom died."
Hannah looked away, tears stinging her eyes. She remembered that day. Chris had been sitting there in his highchair and he had spilled his popcorn shrimp all over the floor. Everyone had laughed, except for the waiter who had to clean it up. Then her mom had spilled water all over the table while she was trying to wipe chris's face. It had been a disaster!
They got out of the restaurant at 5:05. The storm had gotten worse and the sky looked as if it were night.
"We better get home soon." said their dad.
"Ya." said Hannah, "We don't want to run into a tornado or anything."
