It was saterday afternoon and I was in my room reading a book from The House of Night serries when the doorbell rung. My mom was napping so I got up and answered the door. Confusion filled my face as I saw two souldiers in there uniform. Then I saw their faces. Fear gripped my body as I said "Hello, how can I help you?" "Hello is your mother home." One of them asked. I nodded. "She's taking a nap right now. Can I take a message?" I didn't want to wake her, she's been stressing out big time. "No, I'm afraid not." a souldier with black hair and blue eyes told me. I nodded. "Please come in. Would you like anything to drink?" I asked being polite. "No thank you." the other souldier said. She had Dark brown hair and soft blue eyes. I nodded and went upstairs. A few seconds later we were downstairs. "Mrs. Shamon, can I talk to you a lone?" the woman said. My mom looked at me with my worried eyes. "My daugher's 16, she's old enough to here this." The male souldier nodded. "I'm sorry, but your husband died protecting his people." My mom gasped and put her hand to her mouth. Upon hearing the news myself however, my legs collapsed beneath me. Tears were going down my cheeks. 'How can this be happening?' I thought as I curled up in a ball. "We're terribly sorry for your loss." the woman said and left. I stayed in the posistion for what seemed like hours. I was a daddy's little girl, he was my world. My mom and I didn't really get a long at first, after all she's not my biological mom. At first I thought she was after my dad's money, then on my 15th birthday 3 years after mom and dad married, my ex tried to preshure me into having sex. {Flashback} I said no, and walked out. He started to chace after me. I tried to call my dad, but he was busy. Scared out of my wits I started to dile 9.1.1 when he grabbed me and covered my mouth. I struggled real hard but he didn't loosen his grip. He started to drag me to his van. Then I heard "Let my daughter go, now." Shock filled our faces. He turned around to see my mom, who happens to be a pollice officer, glaring at him. "I said, let my daughter go, now." He didn't. "Don't make me use this, because I will." I never seen her angry before, not even after all the things I've done to her. Slowly he began to let me to. As soon as he let me go, I ran to her. "It's ok sweet heart, it's ok." She told me, she then cuffed him and told me to go to my friends house, which was just around the corner. I nodded and ran to Jess's house. {End of flashback}. "Star sweet heart," my mom tried again. I shook my head. I heard her get up. I then heard her say "Jess, can you come over, Star needs you."
