Shaking Hands. (George Weasley Love Story)

I looked out the window of the car. Storm clouds were rolling in and I could tell it was going to be one heck of a storm, you could see the lightening in the distance and could hear the claps of thunder, it was chilling. A soft breeze brushed my hair across my face, the air was cool and calming despite the clouds above.

"You girl!" I heard my Mother yell at me from the passenger seat, I turned my attention from outside to my mom.

"What?" I asked looking at her with an eye brow raised, hey, the damage was done, I was going back to Hogwarts after being away at that French school for a year and my mom didn't like the thought.

"Listen to me because I wont repeat myself. I hate that you're in a house that is so disgusting but affiliate yourself with... Normal people" she said, I just sighed, she wanted me to be friends with people like Vincent Crabbe and Draco Malfoy. Yeah, um, NOT happening. So, instead of picking a fight, I just nodded knowing that I wouldn't listen to her. My mom continued to look at me,

"Well, get out." she said and motioned for me to get out,

"Get out? But, mom, I have three hours before I even have to think about getting on the train..." I looked at her like she was nuts, she and my dad were going to leave me? Just like that, leave?

"Yes, I know, that's why we're dropping you off at the Leaky Cauldron. You can find your way, and do me a favor, sweetie, don't come back this summer. Just don't bother" she spat, I opened the door, got out and they drove away not even looking back to see if I was at least okay.

I walked into the Leaky Cauldron and ordered a small soda, I looked at the money my mom had given me before we left the house. $20,000. Well dang, she must've taken out a loan for this much money, or she had been planning this for a while. That thought disturbed me. Just as I was beginning to dwell on the thought that I didn't have an official home anymore I heard a familiar laugh behind me.

"Gabriella? What are you doing here?" Hermione came up to me smiling and holding a cat thing that she must have bought. Hermione was two years younger than I was but we studied together because she actually made me concentrate.

"Um, well, I just thought I'd come early in hopes of running into someone better to talk to than my mother and father." I shrugged and hugged her, draining my soda, leaving a galleon on the counter, I walked out of the Leaky Cauldron with Hermione.

As it ended up, all the Weasley's were there along with Harry, Lee Jordan, and Hermione. I hugged all of them and we all got some ice cream, I felt so good when I was with my friends. I guess it was because my mom and dad were pretty crappy and my friends, the Weasley Twins in particular, made me laugh and just feel good. After our ice cream was gone we went to pay,

"Crap, I forgot I had to exchange this muggle money..." I said as I dug in my money bag for wizard money, no such luck.

"I'll get it" George said stepping in and paying for my ice cream. I looked up at him,

"George... Thank you so much! When I get my money exchanged, I owe you big time" I said and hugged him, he blushed. I shrugged and just looked awkwardly away. Since when had things been awkward between us, um, that's right, NEVER! And it seemed like everyone noticed because everyone started talking all at once.
