All Too Soon
"Shut up," I said laughing. He took a sip of his tea and then smiled at me. "It's old in a nice way, I like it. So are you going to be giving me a grand tour?"
I took a drink of my tea and bit my lip. "I guess...it's not much, but, it's something." We set our teas on coasters and then I showed him around. We walked straight into a hallway that led into the kitchen. "This is the kitchen," I said gesturing with my hands towards the left side of the hallway. Louis quickly peeked his head inside and nodded his head.
"Mmhm...Clean kitchen, not a dirty dish insight, my Mother would approve," he said stroking his chin as if he had an imaginary beard. Out of nowhere Louis yanked me by the arm and then we stopped at the foot of stairs across the kitchen doorway. "C'mon let's have a race." I looked at the small and really tight, flight of stairs questioningly, and then arched an eyebrow.
"Up there? What if someone gets hurt?" I asked worriedly. Louis chuckled and then squeezed my shoulders.
"Come on, please? I don't own any stairs in my apartment!"
I shrugged my shoulders and pursed my lips. "I dunno Louis, I mean it's awfully dangerous and-" I quickly bolted up the stairs two at a time, getting a head start on the race.
"Hey!" Louis shouted and immediately tried catching up to me. I laughed and looked behind. Bad mistake though. Louis gripped my ankle and made me lose my balance. I tripped about half-way on the staircase, and fell on my face. Laughing and out of breath, I decided to just give up and I lay there. Louis made it all the way up and did some odd victory dance.
"Screw the lightbulb, pat the dog, and just go crazy," he kept chanting. I watched him dance and had tears streaming down my face at the sight of him. He came down from the top and then carried me bridal style. "Cheaters never win Love," he said tapping my nose with his finger. I kicked off my shoes and then he carried me all the way to the bathroom.
"And now the moment you've been waiting for- my bedroom," I exclaimed. Louis kicked the door open and then set me down. "It's a little small, and crowded, and...messy. I'm tidier in the kitchen," I explained with a nervous laugh. Louis walked around the room and then entered my bathroom.
"Oh hey, a pair of TOMS. Excellent taste in shoes my Dear," he said walking over to me and wrapping his arms around my waist. I leaned my head on his chest and then inhaled him.
"Let's go to bed. You're going to have to leave soon and you should get some rest before you go travel." I grabbed him by the hand and then dropped myself on the bed. I was too lazy to change into my pajamas and I cuddled up next to Louis. He stroked my hair while humming a song and my eyes were starting to droop.
"Did you have fun today?" Louis asked out of the blue.
"Yes, lots. I can't wait to develop our photos, they'll be good for my Photography class at Uni," I said with a smile. I was missing out on studying and had class in two days, so I figured it was nice to have a small break.
"So did I. I wish I didn't have to leave so soon though and go on tour. I just want to spend time with you." At this he planted a soft kiss on my lips, but I was already close to knocking out.
"So do I, we'll keep in touch though, and I'll call once in a while, you know, so I don't overwhelm you on tour..." I rambled on. The last thing I remembered was Louis laughing and then hearing his phone make a shutter sound.
She said that the pictures were going to be developed not too soon, and I couldn't wait for her to go around and develop them. I had to have some piece of her with me while on tour. Even if it was a single photo of her while she was asleep. Her face was calmed and relaxed, so I tried hard not to startle her awake. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and went to my camera app. I angled it near her face and hit the CAPTURE button.
A few minutes later I had uploaded the picture on yfrog and linked it on a tweet.
My last night in town was better than I had imagined. Spent it with an amazing person.
Hopefully Cassie would see this tweet so that she'd know that she no longer had a place in my heart, and that a new girl did.
