I'll Help You Find the Light
So, I made this story for my RP friends on a Harry Potter roleplay site: HoH. The teenagers in this story are based of of a their characters. I also got the idea of the plot by reading this book called: The House of Thunder by Dean Koontz. I took some points from the book and tried to take a spin on it and make it my own. Hope you guys like it!
Chapter 1
Waking Up
The darkness was so overwhelming. It was consuming her into a deep sea of black. The first thought that occurred to her was that she was dead. But didn't people usually see white when the die? Just as she thought that, a sudden burst of light filled her sight like someone flipped a switch without warning. And God, that light was blinding. She tried to use her arm as a shield, but for some reason she couldn't feel it; like it was no longer attached to her body. Panicking, she squinted and tried to blink the unpleasant light back as best she could.
Soon enough, her eyes adjusted and she found herself staring up at what appeared to be acoustical tile. Confused, she lifted her head but, even that was difficult. A wave of pain hammered at her skull if she even moved a centimeter. It would rattle her brain and slowly, the terrifying darkness would creep it's way into the corners of her visual sense. So slowly-very slowly- she turned her head from side to side in order to take in her surroundings. Her discovery came as an even bigger shock to her. Why the hell was she in a hospital?
She scanned through her memory to try and figure out how she got there, but that was another issue.
She couldn't remember anything. Not a damn thing. Not even her own name.
Now she was beyond afraid. Her breathing was erratic and her chest hurt from the way her heart was pounding against it. She opened her mouth to cry for help, but no sound came out, not even a whimper.
The darkness began to close in on her with every pound of her heart. It kept coming closer; surrounding her until all she could see was a pinpoint of light at the end of that tunnel.
"Somebody help me!" She wanted to scream, but it was no use.
She fell back into the abyss.
