A weird way of looking at time...
Chapter 1
I hate this place. Seriously, the only thing it's good for is voicing my hatred of it. Gr.
So I was lying in bed after making my video last night (which you should all go and watch) and I was thinking about how time works. So obviously we have seconds and minutes etc, but what does that mean?
Our brains go at a certain pace, and that controls how time goes. So if our brains went faster and clocks ticked at the same pace as they do now, it would seem to go a lot slower because our brains would process things faster and therefore be ahead of time as it is now.
However, if our brains worked slower a clock would appear to tick much faster than it does now, because it would take a longer time to process things like the clock ticking, so it would be going faster and we would be struggling to keep up with it. It's like trying to sing along with a really fast song. Unless you really concentrate you're going to get it wrong because your brain can't keep up with it, but if your brain went faster you would be able to sing along faster, and possibly overtake the song.
Does this make sense to anyone else or is it just me?? I'm sorry if it's too scientific, I'm just reeaaally into things like this :P
Comment if you have anything to add, I really want to know how everyone else sees this :)

It's interesting. (:
Though, I don't think that time's measures are controlled by our brain's pace. As you said, there are faster songs that some cannot keep up to. Obviously there are faster and slower speeds in all of us--how then do we choose what count we follow? Does the faster thinker make the seconds, or does the slower thinker? An average?
Time was created out of necessity. Smaller measures are created as more things demand it--racing just one example. Sometimes you need those seconds
(and smaller counts--such a miliseconds) to judge who has won and who has not. Time was divided from the largest obvious count--days and nights. As we needed it, we cut those days and nights into smaller and more precise amounts of time. But not controlled by our pace of thinking. There'll be times that clock ticks 'slower' and 'faster,' but not because our brains are faster or slower paced. Quicker better thinkers (if they are motivated) are obviously going to get more and better things
completed in the time it takes an average (or less motivated, anyway) person to finish smaller/less quality tasks. That is just the way of the world, the way humans are. Not the way time is. Though, it was enjoyable to read your thoughts on the matter of Time. (:
I understand, and WOW that's really cool!
I've thought of the same kind of thing before... Have you ever wondered if... Time accually existed? I mean, if humans didn't exist I guess clocks and time would never have existed either. Sure seconds, minutes, hours, etc. are ticking by, but aren't they just human inventions?
I mean, does the future and past really exist after all? Or is it all in our brains?
Yes to both. The future and the past exist and it is all in our heads. The future and the past are our names for formless things. But they do exist. There is always time passing, the world turning, the sun 'rising' and 'setting.' There is always a past event, the sun has risen and set in the past, things have occured in days gone by and will ahead of us. And yes, time exists. What we call the increments varies, but Time exists. (:
Interesting... Ur way to smart for me though XD
lol okay yeah no it's not really smart, it's just really weird lol
Never mind those comments, my thoughts about time go a little too far and get confusing :S
sorry.. i don't really get it at all.... i'm not smart obviously
I understand...I think about stuff like that all the time :] Interesting thought. I don't think I have ever considered that one though.
you can't change the way time works.there is nothing between brain and time. even if the brain works faster time mentains its speed. read the paradox of the two brothers.one of them goes in space... search on gooogle its more explicit :P oh btw check up my name guessing quizzes if you had enough of fakes :D
