Chapter 11
Sneaking Out [Part 1]
This chapter's long so I'm splitting it in two parts, but it's still one whole chapter.
It was one week until holiday break. There was another Hogsmeade visit. I couldn't go because I had detention. But what difference did that make, seeing as I didn't have a form either? McGongagall had said something about the Three Broomsticks, so today she sent me off with Snape. All I did was sit in his empty classroom. The silence and solitude was extremely frustrating. Snape gave me a smirk everytime I tapped my fingers on the desk. He knew I was hating this.
While I was there, though, I did think about a few things. I thought about my treacherous ability. Assuming from what Hermione had told me, the thing started building up when I was about four. I've always had anger issues. I was four when my dad left, so it definitely started there. I was toddler with tantrums since then. Something always exploded inside me. It wasn't like a young wizard who has all sorts of magic exploding out of them, it was so much darker than that.
Huh. It all goes back to my so-called "father."
From there, I've been an angry, socially isolated, misguided teenager. And the worst part? My mom never told me why my dad left until this past summer. I felt even worse when she did. But when I met Harry, I actually felt happy. Most of my anger went away. When we talk in the common room late at night, he tells me about the Muggles he lives with and he knows how I feel. We're both so full of anger, me from my father's abandonment and Harry from his cousin's torture. But why did I only end up with that ability?
He's been through just as much and he's fine.
"You are dismissed," Snape monotonously said as he interrupted my thoughts.
I got up and quickly made my way out of Snape's dungeon. I didn't know where to go from there. I could risk getting in more trouble and try to sneak to Hogsmeade. Wow, how would I be able to do that? Maybe I shouldn't...
Just as I thought about that, something pulled me under a cloak. I looked around and jumped when i saw Harry literally two inches away from me, smiling.
"Sorry," he said, laughing lightly. "I'm glad I found you. Do you want to go to Hogsmeade?"
"Can we?" I asked. "What are we in anyway?"
"My Invisibility cloak. And yes, with this." He held up an empty piece of parchment.
"Uhhhh," I said, confused.
"Oh!" he exclaimed. "Hang on." He took out his wand, pointed it at the parchment and said, "I solemnly swear I'm up to no good."
Harry opened it up and a map of Hogwarts was revealed. There were little footprints traveling around different sections of the map. Each one had little names on them.
"What is this?" I asked, amazed.
"The Marauder's Map," Harry replied. "Fred and George just gave it to me. Now, I can see where everyone at Hogwarts is. Right now, we need to look out for the teachers to avoid them so we can go to Hogsmeade. The twins showed me where to go, so follow me."
He took my hand and walked me to a statue of a witch. Then, with one incantation of a spell, the statue moved aside and there was a pathway going underground. We went in, and the statue closed behind us. Harry took the cloak off of us and we began to walk in the direction where the path went. We kept stumbling on the uneven floor until the path went upwards. We went faster, our faces beading with sweat. I knew we were there when I tripped and fell on a staircase.
"Are you okay?" Harry asked as he help me up.
"Yeah, I'm good," I replied. "I think we're almost there."
But we weren't. The staircase was long and tiring. But the thought of Honeydukes and the rest of Hogsmeade kept me going. Until Harry and I were unexpectedly hit on the head.
"It's a trapdoor," Harry observed. He pushed it upwards and it opened. Then, he put the Invisibilty Cloak over us and we stepped out. We were in the Honeydukes cellar. We walked up the steps to the store itself and we were blown away.
There were shelves full of different, mouth watering sweets, from sour to chocolatey. I was in heaven, considering my major sweet tooth. We stayed under the cloak as we walked out of the shop and around the village. We even stopped in the middle of a crowd and made out since no one would see us anyway. That actually happened like three times. ;)
After a while, we went near the Shreiking Shack and spotted Ron and Hermione. Harry and I giggled when we jumped around them and they didn't notice. They were talking normally until Malfoy and his idiotic 'bodyguards' came by.
"Suppose you'd love to live here, wouldn't you Weasley?" Malfoy sneered. "I heard all your family all sleep in one room. Is that true?"
"Shut your mouth Malfoy," Ron said, sounding intimidated.
"If only I could hit him," I said angrily.
"We can," Harry said, smiling. He led me to the farside of a nearby hill. He made a snowball and chucked it over the hill.
It hit Malfoy right in the face. He, Crabbe, Goyle, Ron and Hermione looked over to where it came from.
"Who's there?" Malfoy asked. "Show yourself!"
Quietly laughing, I scooped up another snowball and threw it. Harry and I kept going at that and then we went out there, still cloaked and did more damage. Harry pantsed Goyle and I pulled Crabbe's beanie over his face. Then, to make things more fun, we went to Malfoy, who hand fallen over in bewildering shock, and each took one of his ankles and dragged him away.
