Rayne Parks is 14 years old,and her mother died giving birth to her. Ever since then her father has resented and hated her.
He even shows his anger towards her, by hitting her and locking her up in the basement, because of the constant abuse Rayne stutters when talking to people, and rarely smiles. If she does, it's quite small and pathetic....but can you blame her?At school she is branded and outcast by classmates and even her teachers. You would think that she would get picked on and ridiculed by students, but she isn't. Most people just ignore her, you could even say that she is invisible. she has very few interests but she happens to love to draw and paint. Even though most of her creations are destroyed by her father.
She is constantly depressed and always has her eyes down, glued to the ground. If you even touch her, she will whimper...can you say trauma?Rayne wants to escape her personal prison, but is always afraid of what her father would do if he found her trying. She daydreams often of leaving her house and moving thousands of miles away from where she currently lives.
Now, her father on the other hand is a completely different story.
He is hot-headed and daily beats on his daughter.He is 45 years old and is widowed, both of his parents are dead and he is an only-child.When Delila died, that was the most tragic day of his life, and he spiraled into a depression... just enough to send him into insanity.
He sometimes wishes to kill Rayne, but does realize that Rayne is his only connection to his wife.,so he tries not to. He punishes Rayne for drawing because Delila loved to..so he hates any type of creative outlet.He is a neat-freak and makes Rayne keep the house spotless, if even one drop of liquid touches any carpet or funisher he goes into a frenzy. He has a room that goes into whenever he is missing his wife.
He calls it the Memory Room. It is actually a shrine that he made to keep him partially sane. He even keeps her wedding ring, the flowers that she had on the day of their marriage, and even all of her clothes. He never tries to date, do to the fact that he thinks no one will ever be able to compete with Delila.
Now do you see why this man needs to be locked up in a mental asylum?
