Chapter 1
Chapter 1
I walked down the sidewalk, looking at nothing but the ground. This always helped me when I was upset. I could cry about anything I wanted without having to embarrass myself in front of other people, and I didn't have to try and hold it in. When I was walking alone, I could cry as much as I wanted, without anyone seeing me.
When I stop crying on my walks, I turn around and go back to my house. But today, I didn't want to go back home. I liked being alone, so I continued walking. If it started to get dark, I could walk back. I never go in a specific direction on my walks. I just keep going forward.
I kept walking, and now it seems like it's been longer than 30 minutes. Have I really been walking for that long? I thought. I shook my head, and continued walking.
Suddenly, I tripped. I picked up my head, confused. I realized that I had walked all the way to the end of the sidewalk. If I had walked that far, how long had I been gone?
I was standing on tall grass, and for the first time since I started walking, I picked up my head. It was beautiful. There were a bunch of trees and flowers. I admired nature.
Just when I began to smile, I feel something hit me. It's a net! I twist my head quickly in panic. There were two men a bit far away from were I was standing. But before I could make a move, they ran to me and fixed the net so that it covered me completely. They tied the net, and started dragging me away. "Help!" I screamed. "Help me! Help help help! I'm trapped! Please help me!" I shouted.
No one came to the rescue, so I guess nobody heard me. I continued to scream from the top of my lungs, but nobody listened.
~~~
I woke up, and I had no idea where I was. All that surrounded me was metal walls, and a clear glass. Through the glass, I could see the two men who had trapped me here. "Who are you? Why did you take me? Get me out of here now!" I screamed.
They laughed. "Oh, we're not letting you out. We want your powers. Now." One of them said.
"Yeah," said the other man, "If you want to escape, you have to make out in time."
"/What?/" I asked.
"You have powers, don't you know that?" He answered.
"Idiot. I don't have any powers."
"/Yes,/ you do. Otherwise, you would die in that area where we found you."
"That's ridiculous."
"No it isn't. We need your powers so we can use them for machines, and get a load of money."
I snorted. "Even if I did have powers, I would never give them to you!"
"Then I guess you'll end up like everyone else who was here. dead."
"Unless I can escape."
"You won't. There are many guards, and many weapons. And you have a limited amount of time, you know."
"I don't care what you think," I snapped. "Give me more details. What else should I know?"
"Fine. There are many, many levels. Each one is harder. You always have to use your powers. There are many traps. It is almost impossible it escape. Very few people have made it. There are too many dangers for me to warn you about. I can't remember all of them."
"And what powers do I have?" I asked.
"You can punch and kick at the speed of light. Your punches and kicks are extremely powerful. There. I'm not telling you anything else."
"Okay. Fine then." I replied.
So, he thought I couldn't escape from this place? Well, I'd prove him wrong.
