Chapter 1

Find a sacrafice (Kimmies point of view)

I sat on the beach, breathing deeply. The sand felt cool on my feet as I was dumping salt water, sand, and blood out of my combat boots.
The sun was peaking over the ocean. Morning had finally come. I looked around me, at all my fallen companions. The Nazariah Cult had put up a good fight that night. Then I saw her...my sister lay lifeless 20 feet to my right.
Suddenly all my memory of the night before came rushing back. The screaming, the blood, the swords, and when I last saw my sister before...
We had been about 3 hours into the fight, the wind was crazy and I had to pull back my black hair to keep it from blocking my sight. My heart was thumping like crazy, and a young man came at me with his 10 inch knife. I spun out of his direction to keep him from sticking me.
His eyes were glowing yellow, and his right cheek was all cut up.
He instantly noticed the long scar on my neck, and aimed for it. He must have been out of his mind, because scars are technically thicker and tougher skin. But I hadn't seen him until it was too late. I let out a cry, and expected him to stab me, but suddenly all the breath was knocked out of me.
I lay on the sand, struggling for air. I looked up and realized my sister had been the one to save me. She took her dagger and cut his lower stomach wide open.
His gutts spilled out and he screamed, then fell over and died. I stood up and gave a quick smile to my sister, there was no time to say "thanks" cause by then me and her had already pulled out our swords and were fighting off some more loons.
My sister Katie was my hero. She was 20 years old, and was basically an older version of me. She had long beautiful black hair, and those grey eyes that made you know she was a warrior. I looked almost exactly like her. Except for the scar on my neck. And I never dreamed of losing her, I thought she was too tough to die, she was the best fighter I knew besides our leader, Samurai Jay.
But I was wrong.
5 hours into the fight, I got a gash in my arm, nothing big. But I was still bleeding pretty badly. When I looked for a place I could wrap the wound really quick, I caught a glimpse of Katie fighting a large man. I didn't think much of it until I saw someone come up behind her and cut her neck. She fell over and they continued to stab her.
I was screaming, I was angry, I wasn't screaming, I was crying, I wasn't breathing, I was continuing to fight, I couldn't fight, I was done for, I wasn't going to go on, I was dying inside...
I didn't remember anything after that. Just waking up on the beach, we had killed most of the Cult, the rest had retreated. Some of my companions were sleeping, others were treating wounds. I covered my face and began to cry.
"Ninjas and warriors shouldn't cry Kim." Samurai said, walking over to me.
"Katies g-gone.." My body shook and my hands were clammy.
"I remember when I was your age, the exact same thing happened to me." His old, kind eyes looked understanding.
"I lost my dear brother in a battle. And I cried, it was the first time I had ever cried in my life. But then I remembered I was a warrior."
"I don't care if Im a stupid warrior!" I began to heave out tears and sob.
My Samurai looked at me with sympathy.
"You could always find a sacrafice..."
I looked up at him. "What?"
"If you take someone your age to the underworld, and use them as a sacrafice, then Katie will be brought back to life. But it's not that simple, because you're the youngest ninja around, and you can't exactly take someone to the underworld unless they trust you."
"So I can't just kidnap some chic my age and take her to the underworld?"
"No...you need them to willingly go with you into the underworld. They don't have to know they're being sacrificed, but you atleast need them to trust you."
"Why??" I was frustrated.
"You're not quite old enough to understand."
"So how am I supost to find a person my age, get them to be my friend and trust me, and take them to the underworld?! I'm a ninja, I don't go to school or 'hang out' with people."
"Well I guess we'll be sending you to school then." He laughed
