Lily Potter: Witch
A HP story about Lily, his daughter, at Hogwarts.
Chapter 1
The Hogwarts Express
"Mum, what if I'm not in Gryffindor like James and Albus?" I asked my mum worriedly. She was pushing my trolley for me as we walked through King's Cross Station. Dad and my older brothers, James and Albus, were walking ahead of us. Mum looked down at me.
"Lily, it doesn't matter if you are in Gryffindor or not. Just because James and Albus are does not mean you have to be, too," Mum replied. I sighed. She didn't understand how important this was to me. At least, if I WAS in Slytherin, Albus's best friend would be there too, Scorpius Malfoy. They became friends in their first year. Now Albus is in his 4th year, and so is Scorpius. James is in his 7th year. My cousin Hugo is in his 1st year too, at Hogwarts, so I'm not completely by myself. Suddenly, we arrived at the barrier to the Hogwarts Express. James ran in, followed by Albus. Dad came over and watched with me as Mum ran through. The 2 of us ran through the barrier together and appeared on Platform 9 3/4. I had been here before, with James and Albus, but this was the first time I was here as a student. Dad kept beside me as we walked to where Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione were waiting for us. Aunt Hermione gave Dad and Mum big hugs, and Uncle Ron waved. Rose and Hugo, my cousins, were beside them.
"Harry, Ginny, hi! It's so good to see you, it's unbelievable how long it's been! Rose, dear, stay HERE," Aunt Hermione grabbed Rose's arm as she made to run off.
"But Mum, the train's going to leave soon, and I want to get a good compartment!" Rose complained. Uncle Ron laughed.
"Well, alright then. Give me a hug, and take Hugo with you. Goodbye dears," Aunt Hermione gave Rose and Hugo a hug, and so did Uncle Ron, and they ran off. I saw Albus and James giving Mum and Dad quick hugs, and then James ran after Rose and Hugo. Dad knelt down before me.
"Lily, my dear... you will have such a good year. I promise you. My first year at Hogwarts was scary too, because I didn't know anyone. But you have your brothers and Rose and Hugo and you'll be just fine," he reassured me. I hugged Dad and hugged Mum, and followed Albus towards the train. We entered the compartment Rose and Hugo were already sitting in and I waved at my parents. They waved back as the Hogwarts Express started up. Albus grinned at me.
"Well, we're off, Lily. If you and Hugo aren't in Gryffndor, we'll disown you," he joked. I stuck out my tongue at him as Rose laughed.
"Don't worry, Lily. I have friends in Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff... just don't be a SLYTHERIN," she joked. The compartment door slid open and a pale, blonde haired boy entered, followed by a pale, blonde haired girl. The girl sat gingerly down beside Hugo, and the boy sat beside Albus.
"Hey, Al. Hi, Lily, Rose, Hugo. This is my sister, Demelza. She's just starting at Hogwarts this year," Scorpius Malfoy said. The girl smiled and waved at all of us.
"Hey, Scorp! We were just talking about how Lily and Hugo can't become Slytherins, or else we'll disown them," Albus explained. Scorpius laughed.
"Don't worry, I'm a Slytherin and I'm perfectly nice. If you two become Slytherins, I'll show you around. THAT'S how nice I am," Scorpius replied. We all laughed.
"Yeah, because you're SO nice, Scorp," Rose replied sarcastically. Scorpius' face darkened.
"I'm a pureblood, Rose Weasley. You shouldn't be insulting me with your Mudblood mother and blood traitor father," Scorpius shot. Albus's wand was out before Rose could even react, and it was right at Scorpius's nose. Scorpius's eyes widened, and Rose's eyes filled with tears.
"You are cruel and vile and mean! It doesn't matter what blood you are. So what if my mother's Muggle-born? She's one of the smartest witches ever. Much smarter than YOUR mother, my mum told me Pansy Parkinson was a complete cow when she went to school!" Rose bellowed angrily. She ran out of the compartment and Hugo scampered after her, glaring at Scorpius.
"What was that about, Scorp? You don't dare insult my family," Albus growled. Scorpius whimpered.
"Alright, sorry, sorry. I didn't mean it. I'm SORRY, Albus!" Scorpius cried, as Albus began walking out of the compartment door.
"Let's go, Lily. NOW," Albus ordered, and he continued down the train corridor. Scorpius turned to me.
"You don't hate me, do you Lily? I'm Al's best friend!' Scorpius tried to plead. I stood up and followed Albus.
"Maybe I don't, Scorpius, but my family comes first," I replied. I ran down the corridor to see Rose, Hugo and Albus all in a different compartment, with James and James's girlfriend, Isabella Finnigan. Isabella was sitting beside Rose, her arm wrapped around Rose's shoulders. Rose was sobbing into a handkerchief. James and Albus were talking angrily about Scorpius, and Hugo was sitting on the other side of Rose, astounded. I entered the compartment and James pulled me onto his lap.
"We musn't let the vile words of the Malfoys harm us, Rose. Ronald and Hermione Weasley are one of the most wellknown and liked couples in all of England, as are Harry and Ginny Potter. We can never forget that. The Malfoys have always been like that, even Mr Malfoy back when your parents were in school," Isabella was trying to comfort Rose. Rose looked up with a tear-streaked face. 14 years old, and very sensitive, Rose was.
"But, Isabella, he called Mum a Mudblood and Dad a blood traitor! Aunt Ginny is a blood traitor too, they didn't say anything bad about Albus and Lily! Scorpius just hates me," Rose insisted. Isabella glanced over at James. He stood up and I fell off his lap.
"I'm going to talk to this Malfoy kid. Albus, stay here. Come on, Lily, I need some kind of support," James grabbed my hand and led me down the corridor to our abandoned compartment, where Scorpius and Demelza still sat. Scorpius was staring out the window, and Demelza was looking down at her hands.
"Hi," Demelza said weakly, looking up for a moment. Scorpius jumped up and flattened himself against the window.
"I feel bad, alright? Don't hold it against me!" he whined. James shook his head.
"You evil boy. You do not speak the word Mudblood or blood traitor in the presence of my family again, or you WILL be answering to me. So what if we aren't pureblood like you? None of us will ever be ashamed of our ancestory because you don't like it, Scorpius Malfoy. Don't you forget it," James replied. He stormed off, leaving me in the compartment with Scorpius and Demelza.
"I should go apologize directly to Rose and Albus. Demelza, keep Lily company," Scorpius instructed. He flew out and I sat down in the compartment. Demelza smiled at me.
"Is he always that mean?" I asked. Demelza shook her head.
"It's never bothered any of us, Mum or Dad included, that Albus is from a different blood than us, and so is his family. I don't know why he said what he did," Demelza replied. Already my first year at Hogwarts was NOT going as planned.
