Chapter 1

Homecoming

Catalina walked through her father's palace, behind her father and beside her brother. Triton held his head high and looked down at her whenever he did look at her. He didn't like the fact that his father had cheated on his mother, much less with a mortal. Twice. But, Triton always told her that he liked her better then their other brother, Perseus.
"So when do you return to this camp of your's?" Triton asked.
"Soon," she said, "I was supposed to return right after finishing my quest, but who cares if I took a few weeks longer? I couldn't pass up an invitation stay a while with father,"
"How I wish you had," Triton sighed.
"I'll be gone by nightfall," she reassured him.
"Thankfully. Ever hear that saying, 'like fish, visitors stink after three days,'" he said. This made Catalina smile.
"None of the fish here stink though," she replied which made him glare at her for a moment. Their father chuckled.
"Be nice Triton," Poseidon said, "you should be happy to have a sister,"
"Why? Of what use will she be to me?" He asked.
"I say the same thing of your uncles, and I know for sure it goes both ways," Poseidon laughed.
They entered the dining room and ate before Triton walked Catalina to the entrance of the palace where she was to catch a ride to Camp Jupiter by a turtle.
"Don't tell any one, but Dad was right... I sort've did like having a sister," he smiled and hugged her.
"The feelings are mutual," Catalina smiled.
"Try not to get into too much trouble, okay Kitty?" He smiled.
"No promises," she told him as she got on the turtle. They smiled at each other befor the turtle swam away with amazing speed. She turned around and waved back to Triton. Maybe he wasn't all bad.
As Catalina and the turtle speed through the waters, she grew tired and fell asleep.
She woke as the change from sea water to fresh water began.
'I can't go much farther, do you got it from here, Miss?' the turtle asked.
"Yes, thank you so much for the lift," she said and grabbed her backpack and swam to a ship anchored not too far away. She boarded and was greeted by a faamiliar voice.
"Right on time," said the boy with blonde hair, electric blue eyes, and a small scar above his lip.
"Have I ever been late?" She asked. They smiled and began raising the anchor and setting sail.
"I thought you were exploring the Little Tiber, how'd you end up in the Pacific Ocean?" He asked.
"I finished exploring the Tiber two weeks ago, my dad invited me to his kingdom a while back," she explained.
"Reyna won't enjoy hearing you slacked off," Jason said.
"I wouldn't call it slacking, more like a well deserved break. Besides, it was my dad! How could I pass up this opportunity?"
"Good point," Jason said.
"So how's camp?" She asked.
"Alright. Oh, guess what? Frank Zhang is a disant relative of your's," Jason said.
"Really?"
"Yeah and a son of Mars,"
"Wow, that is a total twist. I honestly thought he was a son of Apollo," She said, "but, that's great that he was claimed,"
"Oh, and that's not all that has happened,"
"What else?" She asked.
"You'll find out in the morning, go to sleep for now," Jason said.
"But-"
"As your Praetor, I firmly suggest you go to sleep, soldier," he said with a smile.
"Fine," Catalina sighed and pulled out a couple of blankets. She always slept outside on the deck when sailing.
The next morning they docked the ship and hiked until they made it to the hghway. They climbed the hill and across the intersection. Standing gaurd today was Hazel and Frank.
"Hey Frankie, I heard you got claimed," Catalina smiled.
"You've returned!" Frank smiled.
"Yep, and all in one piece," she said, "hey Hazel, how are you?"
"Good," she smiled, "shouldn't you be entering via the the Little Tiber though?"
"Probably, but she went through a detour," Jason said.
Catalina and Jason walked through the tunnel and through the river named Little Tiber.
They walked into the principia and were greeted by Reyna, she had company, two boys and two other girls.
"Catalina Oceana. I was worried we had lost you forever," she said.
"You know me, I can't stay lost forever, I always have to show up and annoy someone,"
"And here, Octavian thought he no longer had a thorn in hi side," Reyna smiled, "oh, I'm being rude. Catalina, these people are Greek allies of ours. Piper is a daughter of Venus; Annabeth is a daughter of Minerva; Leo is of Vulcan; and Percy here is-"
"My brother," Catalina said. The boy with bright sea green eyes, similar to her own, looked fairly surprised.
"You have heard of him?" Reyna asked.
"Our father is so proud of him. I enjoyed hearing father tell Percy's tale while I visited my father's kingdom,"
"You visited dad?" Percy asked.
"Yes, I have just returned from a two week stay," she said.
"You were supposed to be on a mission and report to camp directly after!" Reyna interjected.
"I couldn't refuse my father though," Catalina said.
"Oceana, you have tested my patience beyonds it's measure! I should have you mucking the stables for a whole year!"
"Well, I suppose I won't tell you of my journey and what I found out," Catalina shot back.
"You will tell me,"
"Ensure I will recieve no punishment for visiting my father first," Oceana said. Reyna looked like she could hit something, but sighed in defeat instead.
"Fine," she grumbled, "meet back here tomorrow morning to give your report,"
"Yes ma'am,"
"Now get out of here Oceana, you reek of fish," Reyna sighed. Catalina smiled.
"It's nice to be back home again," she said and turned to leave when Percy grabbed her wrist.
"Can you walk with me? I have so much to talk to you about" he said.
