Heart_And_Seoul: 01-30-2012 at 4:46 PMI suppose I could have just searched this up, but I'm being lazy.
This is one of those questions that's right up there with "Do Ants ever sleep?" and suchlike. Cats aren't the only ones that don't ever need their fur cutting--like cows--but why is that? Do they have some sort of programming in their body that only allows fur to grow to a certain length?
Ithilwen: 01-30-2012 at 7:42 PMI'm no expert, but cats (dogs and other animals, too) shed quite a lot. So by the time their fur would grow beyond the norm, it'd just fall out and be replaced by another. Also, it could have something to do with growth and rest stages in the hair matrix. For example, humans have longer rest stages in their eyebrows than the hair on their head. Perhaps animals have longer rest stages as well.
warrioress: 02-01-2012 at 3:40 PMWell, Ithilwen has said what I would have answered. I have nothing new to add (:

TeddyTheBear: 02-25-2012 at 11:21 AMBecause they don't have hair! They have fur!!!

I've always wondered that too!!! Oh, and just so you know, rabbits sleep. And they twitch in their sleep!! Its so funny to watch my rabbit sleep!!! I swear he was dreaming of eating a delicious carrot or something!!!!!!!! :D
bookofdreams: 03-24-2012 at 6:46 PMWhen their fur grows a certain length it falls out. Like human eyelashes.
