Chapter 1
How the black widow spider got its hourglass (and other stories)
How the black widow got its hourglass:
Long long ago, in the village of Oriantinocha, there lived a pure black good spider. Her name was black, but since she was a widow,(her husband had passed away recently) she was called black the widow, or black widow for short. she was a good natured spider, always doing her job right. One day, she got to go to Olympus to meet the great god Zeus. Now, Zeus was a calm fellow. He treated her very nicely when she came in. She saw a mouse, that was golden, and was tempted to bite it. But what she didn't know, was that the mouse was disguised as Zeus's son, Hermes. When Zeus found out, he was so angry, that he put a curse on the poor spider. Whenever the red hourglass on the spider had faded away, her time would be up. When she had children, they had the hourglasses like her, but theres never faded away, because they werent cursed like her. And the spider's hourglass remained on the black widow forever.
10 minute intermission if you get tired of reading lol...
How the pegasus got its wings:
Pegasus was just a normal horse. He was very sad, because he couldn't fly, like the birds. They teased him and pecked at him, because he looked like a normal horse. He complained to the great god Apollo, who decided to send him on a hard task to earn his wings. He said to help Hercules defeat the terrorizing Medusa. So, Pegasus had to gallop across the land with Hercules on his back. When they reached Medusa, Hercules distracted her, while Pegasus jumped on her back, causing her to tumble over. Hercules chopped of her head, and they both rejoiced. When they went back to Apollo, he granted Pegasus with his own wings. Pegasus and Hercules flew into the sky, where there constellations are now.
How the bee got its stinger:
The bee was a simple bee. Always living in the same hive, always getting the same thing everyday. One day, they were invited to Aphrodite's birthday party. When they arrived, she was very angry, because they were very late. To punish them, she turned them yellow and black, as they had been originally pure white. She also gave them stingers, to sting in self defense, but once they stung one time, they would die.
So, thats my stories aka bedtime stories. hope you enjoyed :). please, comment on what story i should write next, because i love ideas. thanks :P
