Reads: 42 | Chapters: 2 |

Hi guys. This is another Twilight fanfic thingy. It's on Jacob this time. I'm going to write more of the Seth one, but I got writers block and I wanted to make a Jacob one anyway. This story's idea took me like a week to just kind of figure out in my head. Then it finally came to words. I'm pretty impressed with the first chapter, I wrote a lot. More than I expected. I hope you guys or whoever reads this likes it. This chapter took me like 5 hours to write. Please enjoy! :)

Chapter 1

Just a few old friends...

WOW this chapter is long. I never really intended it to be this long... but um enjoy. :D yeah.

"Alright then, see you in a few hours honey, my little Julia Rose Mendoza." I heard my dad sigh from the other end of the phone. I was wearing this, (http://www.polyvore.com/julias_outfit/set?id=43110246) I looked around my room with my dark blue eyes, taking in all it, for that was the last time I would see it till the beginning of the new school year. "Hello?" I heard my dad say. I slipped back to reality and said "Oh, uh yeah." I tried to sound excited, but failed. "I'll see you soon daddy." I closed the phone, my eyes following. I ran my hand through my silky dark brown hair as I sighed deeply, as if I was trying to smell the room. It smelled like... cherries. My perfume. Wait a second... MY PERFUME! I FORGOT TO PACK IT! I ran into the bathroom, took the perfume and ran downstairs and out the door. "WAIT MOM!" I yelled, just as she was about to close the car door. "What!?" She said looking worried. I said "Hold on. I almost forgot my perfume." I put it in the case. The only reason I needed that perfume was because it was very expensive, and special to me. My grandmother made the scent, before she died she had a perfume company. She made the most lovely scents. It was sad to see it all thrown away. The company had to shut down since she was the only one who could make the perfect scents. This was one of the last bottles, and my favorite smell. "Okay." I said, looking down with sorrow. It felt so warm, so nice. I shivered at the delightful feeling. Time to say goodbye to this lovely warm feeling of Florida and get used to the rainy coldness of Washington. I stepped in the car, and my mom and I silently drove to the airport, not a single word said.

"Bye sweetie! Call me as SOON as you get there, and every single day after that!" My mom called as I went through the door to board the plane. I smiled, waving and nodding, but not fully catching all she said. All I knew was that I needed to call her, she discussed it with me practically everyday for 5 months before I was even leaving. I really just wanted to cry. Cry and sob my heart out. My boyfriend had broken up with me, as soon as I told him I wouldn't be there for the summer. So now I have a broken heart, and have to go to this STUPID rainy cold place with my father who I barely knew as a child. And the great thing is, there is NOTHING to do where he lives. Some place called La Push, or La Mush, not too sure. All there is is trees, miles of boring old forest. Nothing to do. NOTHING. Well at least for a teenage girl, but not for some lonely man such as my father. Plus there is like no malls near by, and no one to hang with. My dad did say there were some boys, but what I really needed was a girl to hang out with now. I don't really want to hook up with anyone after I just broke up with the perfect dream guy I dated for the whole year since October. Now it's all thrown away. It's like my life was on top of the world, then one measly announcement at the dinner table and it's been downhill since then. Then I let it happen. The tears fall, as soon as I got to my seat. This can't be happening. No... my life is too good. Julia, this isn't you. You're trapped in another persons sick life. I kept repeating these things to me until I drifted off into a deep sleep, tears still streaming.

"Ma'am... ma'am. You need to leave." I heard a woman's pleasant voice say eagerly. My navy blue eyes shot open as I turned my head to see a flight attendant kneeling over, trying to wake me up. We had landed. Wow... I slept through it? I must've been tired, probably from all my crying. I got up and walked out of the plane. Oh surprise, surprise, it was raining. I pulled out my umbrella, which I had knowingly packed since Washington always is rainy. Thank the Lord I was good with social studies.

There he was. My dad. I had only seen him in person once before, and that was a faint memory. Him and my mom split when I was just turning 4 years old. He was about my height, maybe 2 or 3 inches taller, but I was only 5' 2. He had my eyes, which I pretty much guessed since my mom had pitch black eyes, being the Hispanic Italian she was. My dad on the other had was Irish and German. I was a pretty crazy mix. Also instead of my dark chocolate brown hair, he had a light brown hair, which was just beginning to go gray. I guess not having a family to watch took the stress off of your shoulders. He was also a lot paler than me. His skin was pretty fair, like mine in the winter. I always turned pretty tan in the summer, but I definitely wasn't going to here. My legs were cold, I probably should've worn longer pants.

"Hi Julia. My you've grown." He said, as I walked closer to him. I nodded looking up and saying "Well I am 15. And going to be 16 tomorrow." Yup. You heard me. I leave to my misery the day before my birthday. Another toilet downhill thing. He smiled and said "I know. Sorry you couldn't spend it with your close friends. But I'll try to make it a good birthday, kay?" I nodded, smiling a fake half smile, and looking down. Even though I should've been over it by now, I felt a lump in my throat as we drove through the woods to his house... well MY house for the summer. I felt a tear stream down my cheek, but quickly wiped it away with the sleeve of my gray abercrombie sweater. "You ok sweetie?" I heard my dads low voice say. I sniffed a bit and said unconvincingly "Yeah." He said, sounding happy "Well, I bet you'll feel better when you see your room. I've been working on it ever since I heard you were coming to spend the summer. I know you aren't excited about being here, but I'm really glad I get to see you. Hopefully you'll feel the same way when I show you the benefits of La Push." I pondered for a bit. Benefits of La Push? Ok I really need to know them, but they're probably boring.

We arrived at the house. My biggest word to describe it. Small. We walked in, me carrying all my luggage. It was actually pretty nice on the inside. When you first walked in there was stairs to one wall, on the other side was the living room. It was just a small leather love seat, a coco brown coffee table, and a matching television stand with a mini flat screen on it. The floors were all wood, and pretty new looking. Behind the couch was a small round table with 2 chairs. I guess my dad didn't host a lot. The rest of the room was occupied by a kitchen, and two doors next to each other on the back wall. One was to a bathroom and the other to the garage. My dad and I got my luggage all upstairs. It really was nice. My room was awesome actually.

Let me describe my room for you. It was a pretty good size actually considering there was just two bedrooms upstairs. I had my own bathroom as well. There was white carpet, and lavender walls. I had a twin bed, the wood was a light sandy brown, and the sheets where white with different shapes of purple polka dotted on them. I had a white desk with a light purple hard chair with little holes in the back. There were pictures on the wall of me. A few from when I was little, and some more recent pictures. My dad even had my favorite singers posters. Bruno Mars, Adam Levine, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and Paramore. Where did he get them? There was a light purple lamp that hung over a dark purple beanbag. There was also a few dressers, a makeup table, and my side table had a cute alarm clock on it. My bathroom was an average bathroom, but there was a light purple fuzzy carpet, and shower curtains that matched my bed sheet. I looked around my room once again and said "WOW. Dad, I love it. You were right." He smiled and said "Well I am pretty good with interior design." I nodded vigorously. He said "Oh and Julia, we are going to go to my friend Sams house for dinner, so wear something a little nice, okay?" I nodded. I guess since my room was awesome I would have some more fun.

I took a shower and got dressed in a really nice outfit. It was just a simple dress, but it did show that I didn't look like a lazy bum who didn't care about being here, which was really how I felt. (Here is the outfit ---> http://www.polyvore.com/dinner_at_sams/set?id=43112429) I put on my makeup, which was very light. All I had on was a pale cotton candy pink blush, a bit of dark brown eyeliner and mascara, and for eye shadow I just had a little bit of a smoky looking gold. I headed downstairs, being careful not to trip in my high heels. They practically made me as tall as my dad. "Wow Julia. All I said was to look a little fancy." My dad said, smiling. I grinned and said "Well I want to make a good first impression." My dad nodded. He was wearing dress shoes, dark black jeans, and a dark blue dress shirt. We got into his cheap old black Dodge and drove to his friends house. His friend was only 19, and had a lot of his younger friends coming over. They were around my age my father told me. All boys, of course. There was two girls though, but one, as my dad said, wasn't too bright. The other girl there was his friends fiancee, so she was an option to talk to.

We got to the house. It was bigger than my dads, and nicer. But the sad thing was that the smell reminded me of Chris. You know, the guy that dumped me. The irresistible mix between maple and honey, it was one of the reasons I always visited him. I couldn't stop thinking of his precious golden locks. And his beautiful sparkling blue eyes. NO! Julia, don't think about him. Just push it aside. I can't cry right now. If I did they would think I was crazy, and it would ruin possible friendships for me. I heard a bang in the other room... must've been the teenager boys.

A tall tan man walked in the room. It was Sam. HOLY CRUD! He doesn't look 19 AT ALL. My dad greeted him, "Hi Sam. This is my daughter Julia." He turned towards me and said "Julia, this is Sam." I shook Sam's hand. He was tall, really tall, and very fit. His shake was firm, and so was his expression, but he had warmth in his eyes. And his hand. WOW, was it warm. And he looked much older than 19. He was very matured for a 19 year old. I was surprised.

Suddenly a tan, black haired girl walked in the room. She had her hair styled into bangs, and it was long and hanging over her shoulders very straight. Was that natural? Lucky b!@tCh. She was beautiful too. Sam wrapped his arm around her waist and said "This is my fiancee, Emily." I nodded smiling. She said in a sweet voice that I loved "Hi, you must be Julia. Your dad talks about you all the time. You sound really nice." Ok me and this girl NEED to hang out some time. If there was one upside to this boring place, it was Emily. She was the girl I needed to discuss Chris with. Tell her how perfect he was, and how awful my life is at the moment. But I'll save that for later. No need to put a damper on a happy time for every else. I replied "Hi. Nice to meet you Emily." I put my hand out for her to shake, and she did. Her hand was normal temperature... wait what am I saying? Emily said "The boys are eating. Which you will probably hear me say A LOT. I mean, it's practically all they do." I laughed and we all went into the dining room.

"Boys, this is Julia." Emily said, standing next to me. Their heads all turned from their plates and landed on me. They stared in shock. Suddenly one had a goofy grin on his face, and laughed a bit, then said "Embry..." Another boy, I'm guessing was Embry said "Yeah Jacob?" The boy, I'm guessing who was Jacob said "You owe me $20." Embry had a shocked look on his face and turned away from me to stare at Jacob. He yelled "WHAT?!" Jacob turned towards him and said "Remember the bet we made last week! You said that you bet me $20 that she was ugly!" My eyes widened and I felt my face become hot. Oh god, this evening was going to be interesting. I couldn't help but laugh along with Emily, who was practically on the floor. It must've been Embry's reaction. It was pretty funny. Embry grumbled something under his breath and said, annoyed "Fine." Jacob smiled victoriously.

Emily turned towards me and said "That was Jacob and Embry, but I'm pretty sure you know." I smiled and she continued "And this is Seth." She pointed towards an adorable looking boy. He looked the youngest, and did I mention his smile was ADORABLE. He was like a little puppy. I just wanted to squeeze him... but that would be weird. Emily continued, pointing towards them as she said their names "And this is Jared, Paul, Quil, and Leah." I waved towards each of them. They all waved back, except for Leah. She just stabbed her fork into her steak and continued eating. What was her problem? Oh well.

I took a seat between the adorable puppy (Seth lol) and Jacob. Well it was the only seat left since I took a seat last. I grabbed some asparagus and began gnawing on it. It was really good. I usually don't like asparagus, but that's because my mom is the worst cook ever. Another upside to this place, since my dad did say he ate here a lot. My mom's father lived here, that's why my dad was here. It's a long story. So my mom and dad first met in Seattle, then they ended up buying a house in my mom's home town. They had me, then they got divorced and my mom moved away to Florida and took me with her. So my dad said I had to visit my grandpa sometime while I was here.

Jacob stared at me and asked "That's all your eating?" I stared at his place. It was piled inches high in food. My eyes widened and I said "You can eat ALL of that?" Jacob smiled and said "Want to bet?" I laughed and dared "I'd like to see you try." Jacob pushed my shoulder lightly and said "You're on." He began scarfing down the food like no tomorrow. Quil said "You do realize you're going to loose. We could all eat like 100 pounds of food in a day. Each." I rolled my eyes and said "That's definitely an exaggeration." Emily laughed and said "I don't think so... their stomachs are made of steel, and probably take up their entire abdomen." Jacob was still scarfing down food. Wow. Ok now I know I'm going to loose the bet. He finally finished and took the last swallow. Seth said "Wow. Record timing Jake. Only 6 minutes and 32 seconds." I said "Fine you win." Jared jumped up shoving his chair away from the table and said "I'm going to the beach, who's going with me?" All of the other boys but Sam and my father said "ME!" As they were all stampeding out of the dining room, they stopped and looked at me. I stared at them and said "Oh, you want me to come?" My dad said, not looking up from his steak "You can go. But you might want to put a bathing suit on or something. A dress and high heels on the beach aren't the greatest idea." I yelled "Thanks." and ran out. I didn't know there was a beach here! Another benefit! Yippee.

We all ran to my house, but I was way behind them due to my high heels. Plus they were really fast runners anyway. I stopped for a second yelling "WAIT!" I lifted foot up, took off one of my heels, then did the same to the other and ran to them till I caught up to them. I then said "Ok let's go." We all ran again to my house and I quickly got on a bathing suit. (Here is the bathing suit http://www.polyvore.com/beach/set?id=43143303 )
I grabbed a white towel and threw on an old t-shirt as a cove up. "Let's go!" I yelled as I ran out the door and to the beach.

We arrived at the beach, and I gazed at it's beauty. It was about 4:30. We had eaten dinner early. I ran to the edge of the water, letting the cold graze my feet lightly. I felt the wind blow my hair gently, and I laid out my towel to lie on. I felt someone walk up behind me as I had just turned to lie on my tummy. I looked back and saw Jacob. He sat by me, his legs stretched and his arms supporting his upper body. He asked "So where you from?" I looked at him and said "Florida. Orlando, Florida." I noticed he wasn't wearing a shirt... and man did he have abs. I guess he caught me ogling because he had an amused look on his face. He laughed and said "Like what you see?" I felt my face and neck turn hot and red in embarrassment. I laughed nervously then said "I'm gonna head into the water. The sun is beating on my skin." I got up quickly and stepped into the water, jumping a bit at the coldness of it. It would feel good to get in. I guessed it wasn't warm here a lot judging the water temperature. I heard his voice again "Hey. I'm not done with you." I turned around and said "Ok. What other questions do you have then." We walked further into the water as he thought a moment for his next question. Finally he said "So Joey is your father?" I nodded. He asked "And I'm guessing you live with your mother in Orlando." I nodded again, dunking my head under quickly. He did the same as me. He asked me the next question "So what made you leave Orlando for La Push?" I looked down, replying "Well trust me, it wasn't my decision. My dad wanted to see me. I would've stayed in Orlando if I could..." I held back tears, this was NOT the place to cry. He seemed to have noticed though, asking "You ok?" I looked up, and straight into his eyes. For a few seconds I felt like I couldn't look away. I felt something strong, like a force, some weird change of gravity. I felt like I was floating in the air, and there was an attraction pulling me towards something. I looked away. "Woah..." I whispered. He asked "You felt that too?" I nodded, not fully knowing what happened. He looked kind of nervous. He blinked a few times and changed the subject "So what's your FULL name?" I replied, staring at the just starting to set sun "Julia Rose Mendoza. Yours?" He looked at my face, but not into my eyes and said "Jacob Ephriam Black." I nodded and said, looking at the shore "We should probably get back. I'm starting to freeze." He said "Yeah..." I looked at him as if he was crazy and said "You're not cold!? The water is like 30 degrees!" He smiled and said "I guess I'm just warm."

We got back to the beach. We were all playing a mini game of football. I was really good, I had already gotten 3 touch downs. "WHAT THE HECK!?" Paul yelled to me. I laughed and said "And they say girls can't play football." Quil said "You may be better at football, but can you beat me in running?" I raised an eyebrow and said provocatively "Where to?" He pointed towards a rock and said "That rock. And back." He was bouncing on his heels. "You're on." I whispered evilly. We began running. I felt sand kick behind me as I ran at my full speed. He was still ahead of me. What the heck!? He had to be running at 50 mph! It was supernatural how fast he could run. I eventually stopped at the rock, seeing he had already made it to the finish line. "THAT'S NO FAIR. YOU MUST BE IN LIKE TRACK AND FIELD OR SOMETHING! CAUSE THAT WAS JUST IMPOSSIBLY FAST!" Suddenly I was shoved roughly by something hard as rock. I screamed as I hit the rock. A cold hand help me against it by my neck, but it restricted me from looking down. Blood was coming out of me too fast, and my vision faded slowly, eventually slipping into blackness.
