Alright, So I was hanging out with my friends, (Consists Of Me, My Boyfriend, Two Of My Bestfriends, And A Friend Of My Boyfriend) When A Friend Of Mine Said A 'Rude' Remark. Went Something Like This;
So One Of My Friends(Not Included In The Group) Likes To Wear Color Contacts (Its A Guy) And A Few Days Ago, He Was Wearing Purple Contacts. The Guy Friend Looked Over When We Were Making A Fuss About It, And He Was Like, 'Oh Man, Are You Wearing Contacts?'
So Then Today A Friend Of Mine Was Making Fun Of Him, In A Very Feminine Tone, Pretending To Swoop Her Hair, "Oh Man, Are You Wearing Contacts?" And I Thought It Was Rude, As Well As Mean, Because A LOT of People Make Fun Of Him Because They Question His Sexuality, And I Told Her, "Dude,Don't Say Things Like That, It Sounds Really Harsh. Don't Make It Imply That You're Calling Him Gay."
She Got All Offended, And Was Like, "No, I Wasn't Doing That? What The Hell, Are You The Only One Who Can Make Jokes?"
So Then I Told Her, "Alright Then, Just Watch The Way You Say Things. And I Don't Mind When People Make Jokes. Just Jokes About Their Sexuality And Race Really Annoy Me Because They Cause A Lot Of Pressure, Confusion, And Have Caused Suicide."
And Then She Took It Up The Butt. "What The Fvck, Shutup! I wasn't Meaning It Like That, And He Knows I'm Kidding."
I'm Still Calm At This Point. "Alright, Well Just Watch The Way You Say Things Around People. Just Don't Joke About Sexuality.It's Hurtful,"

My Boyfriend's Really Supportive Of Me."It did sound like you were making fun of him. Just Let It Go, She's Just Telling You For Future Reference."
My Friend(One WHo's Getting Made Fun Of) "It's Fine."
I Told Him, "No, It's Not Fine. She Knows A Lot Of My Family Members Have Committed Suicide Because People Made Fun Of Their Sexuality. Even If It Doesn't Bug You, It's Going To Hurt Someone Else."

I'm Astonished. She's Never Been So Serious About The Names She Calls Me.
I'm Still Standing Strong. I Think I'm Right. Whether She 'Meant' It Or Not, She Should Know Those Jokes Can Be Hurtful.

Well maybe you two just aren't alike. She have been making a joke, but I agree that she should watch what she says, because it could definitely harm some people. I think what you did was right. You shouldn't hang out with her, you two seem to have conflicting perspectives.
I think it was good for you to stand up to her for that. It is a very serious topic that she should have been aware of it's effect on people. It hurts when someone calls you that. If I were in your position I would have done the exact same thing. I think she did over react though by crying. I would've just apologized, even though I wouldn't ever call someone that. My family friend who was gay was teased horribly for it and almost pushed him to suicide.

Honestly, I believe that you're right in every way. Yeah sure, maybe she was kidding but she should know better that it could have made your friend with the contacts upset. And also with you. She should have been more sensitive to that since she knew that, kidding or not. Being bullied/pressured is a serious thing. Yeah all friends tease each other, but at some point everyone has a breaking point, and your friends should know when that is and respect it. If they don't, you shouldn't be friends.
I think you were right. I get that sometimes people may joke about that kind of stuff but I think that she wasn't really joking. If she was, then she'd be like Oh, I'm soo sorry. But she didn't. Plus, you are right joking about this kind of stuff does lead to suicide sometimes or bad situations. You were definitely not wrong in telling your friend that. Maybe your friend just needs to cool off.

I have a friend (Who is male) and he gets called lady and gay a lot, just because he has a really upbeat personality and his voice hasn't exactlly hit pueberty yet. So one day this guy named Luke said something, My friend said something back and then Luke said, "Hey lady, why don't you hang out with that group over there *points to a group of girls). I'm sure you'll fit in just fine." (Continueing in another comment...)
.... And my other friend and I were just standing there in shock. Though, Luke is a major jerk so the only way to tell him off is to outsmart him. So, I replied ," Hey Luke! Are you to blind to see that he's a guy, or do you have your head shoved to far up your a** to notice?"
His expretion: Priceless.
