What happened last weekend

My name is Alice Christopher. My best friend, Joe Evergreen, was going with me to the ice cream store because we always loved going there when we were kids, and this was the first time it reopened. So I walked in and he bought it. But when we went in, everything got dark.

Then it was quiet after the large scream. I didn't know what to do so I found Joe and stayed close by him. But then he said,
