A Matt Jeevas Fan-Fic

I walked around the small schoolyard, sighing. I was debating on whether I’d entered depression at age ten. No one liked me here. They claimed I was an annoying nuisance and called me vulgar things, poking fun because I read the dictionary in my spare time. And all just because I was the fourth successor to L. I kicked a rock.
“Ignorant humans.” I whispered to myself, then noticed someone sitting alone, playing a small handheld game. “Who’s that?” I’d never seen him outside before. I came up to him. “Hi.” He was alone, everyone seemed to avoid him.
He ignored me, the only response a slight shift as he bent closer to the video game.
I sat next to him. “I love Mario!”
He looked at me in interest. “You like video games?”
I smiled. “Of course.” I leaned over and snatched the console from him. “Lemme try.”
“Hey!” he protested weakly, trying to grab it back.
I looked at the screen. It was Mario and the Six Golden Coins, and I’d already beaten it. He was halfway through the game. “How long have you had it?” I asked, handing it back.
“About half a day.” He replied.
“Wow.” I said in amazement. “Why are you wearing those goggles? They look way too big on you.”
He smirked. “They were given to me. I couldn’t get rid of them.” His eyes were dark green.
“Oh.” I heard someone call my name, my sensei telling me to come back. “I have to go. What’s your name?”
“Matt. You?”
“I’m Lilith.” I walked away. “Bye Matt-Chan!”
That was the first friend I’d made.
