The Viper and the Rabbit (Randy Orton Love Story)
Chapter 1
First Day
I, Katherine Lee Night, am a new Diva, about to debut on Raw. I was coming into the arena through the back door wearing my normal outfit that consisted of some type of skin tight jeans, in this case my faded blue ones, my purple and blue high-tops, and my pink and white tank-top that showed off just enough of my chest.
I was just in front of the door when I stopped. I became so nervous in that short amount of time that I was considering turning back now and never coming back. But, I reminded myself that I had waited all of my life for this. I practically grew up watching wrestling. It was my life and what I loved. I had waited for so long to come this far that I didn't want to stop.
So, I took in the biggest breath my average sized body would allow and pushed open the door into a new stage of my life. I was amazed because I was crossing all of the dressing rooms of the superstars that I had grown up with. I walked past a lot of crew workers, but so far no superstars or divas.
I thought that I had come a bit early, but remembered that I was asked to come at least three hours before the show began, and that was what I did. But, as I kept walking, I was looking for a dressing room with my name on it.
I finally came to a door that had the names 'Kelly Kelly & Katherine Night' inscribed in silver on it. I sighed as I opened up the door to reveal a fully geared up Kelly Kelly reading her script.
I shut the door as quietly as possible not wanting to interupt her, but she looked up anyways with a huge smile on her face, "Come in, and don't worry about interupting me. You aren't." She looked back down at her script one last time before shutting it and standing up to greet me. "I am Kelly Kelly," she said, holding out her hand to me, which I took and shook with great pleasure, "And you must be the new diva Katherine."
I smiled brightly at her, "Umm...yea. It it nice to meet you to. I love watching you wrestle by the way." I let go of her hand and let mine drop to the side.
"Thanks. I am sure you will be great too." She smiled at me showing her bright white teeth. "Hey, umm why don't we go see---"
Just then Stephane McMahon came in, "Sorry to interupt, but you must be Katherine Night. I wanted to give you your script for tonight." She handed me a script with my name on it. "Oh and your stage name will be included on the inside front cover of your script." She looked up and looked at Kelly Kelly as if she just noticed her presence. "Oh, Kelly Kelly would you please show Katherine around?"
"Oh, sure. I was going to do that anyway." Kelly said.
"OK, well you two have fun." Stephane left as we walked through it to the arena where I would probally be giving a speech and maybe doing a match.
I saw CM Punk and Kofi Kingston practicing their match for tonight as we walked into a lunchroom with all of the wrestlers that I have come to love like Nikki and Brie Bella, John Cena, Mark Henery, and the Big Show were some of the ones I liked the most, all except one that I favored above each and every one of them.
As I was looking for him Kelly went over to the Diva table and talked with them, right when HE came in. My heart started to swell at the sight of him as it did everytime I got to see him in person.
"Hi," his voice said to me. "I am Randy Orton," he stuck his hand out to me as I shook it. "Would you like for someone to show you around?"
Everyone stopped talking and I felt gazes burning through my back, but I ignored them and responded, "Sure."
He walked in front of me out to the ring where there was no one except the crew workers setting up everything.
"So, have you ever been in the ring before?" He asked, not meeting my eyes as I would have liked him to do.
"No," I said shyly, "but, I am really looking forward to it tonight."
He looked my way, "Why wait when you could go into it right now?" He asked as he helped me into the ring.
I walked to the middle of it and stood still for a couple of seconds, taking in the beauty of it all. The sight of being in the ring I had always dreamt of was like a dream come true.
But, Randy's voice penetrated my thoughts, "Amazing isn't?" His voice was a mixture of wonder and awe. "Even I haven't gotten over it. But, just remember not to let anything get to your head. Whatever rude comments people say are their own opinions and they should really mater to you."
"You got it." I said before remembering everyone's silence. "Hey, was it just me or was everyone silent when you asked to show me around?"
"Everyone thinks I am the way I seem in the ring. But, no one understands that I am a good guy at heart. They don't know me. They only know the guy in the ring and that is all they want to know because they think I am a bad guy in and out of the ring. I am just so different than them that they think I am only what I protray." His voice was becoming colder and colder with every sentence.
"I understand."
"No you don't. You don't know what it feels like to be judged like I am. You will never understand what I am going through. Nobody does! You are only a newbie, you will never be what I am." He shouted towards me as he ran out of the ring.
The words stung like a thousand bumble bees. But, I did understand. I might not look like I do because of my dirty blonde hair and my the way I looked, but I got teased like no one knows.
And that is why I ran after him and grabbed him by the arm. "I do understand," I shouted at him as tears started forming in my eyes, "I got teased like you wouldn't know. I acted myself and no one liked it. I pushed my way through life with no true friends. Only those with fake smiles." Tears started to spill from my eyes as I wipped the away. "I do know. And I know more than what you think."
I stepped back towards the dressing rooms slowly looking at him. I shook my head and turned around and ran towards my dressing room as fast as lightning. Covering my eyes as I tried to cry as lightly as I could until I was in the safety of my own dressing room.
But, you-know-who had to show up and grab me like I did to him just moments before. "I am sorry." He said in a very hushed tone.
Luckly I was up aganist my dressing room door. "Sorry doesn't help where the damage has already been done." I said as I twisted the door knob and ran into the dressing room.
I slammed the door shut and I slid against the door. But, to my surprise I didn't hear the pitter-patter of footsteps walking away. I wasn't really concerned with that as I tried to calm myself down.
"Katherine." Randy's voice rang out from the otherside of the door. "I am sorry. I had no idea. How can I make it up to you?" He asked, pleadingly with a sense of caring in his voice.
I was quiet for a few moments while I thought of what to say. "You could be less judgemental of people you don't even know." I shouted as it came out colder than I meant for it to be. "And until I know I can trust you again, I don't want to see you next to me or trying to make amends until you can prove to me you are not the jerk I just witnessed."
I heard him sigh and heard the sound of footsteps walking away from the door. Well that went well, I thought to myself.
I was just in front of the door when I stopped. I became so nervous in that short amount of time that I was considering turning back now and never coming back.
