I Can See For Miles
Yup, this is a Roger Daltrey story. For those of you who don't know, Roger's the singer for The Who.
Roger - singer
Pete Townshend - guitarist
Keith Moon - drummer
John Entwistle - bassist
There'll be a video for every chapter, or at least almost every chapter. Anywho (no pun intended!), I hope you like this a little bit at least!
Chapter 1
Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere

For a long time it had worked. I don't really know how, but I had managed to all but forget about him.
The first couple years after I moved away from London were awful, but after that...I was alright.
The first time I saw one was in Zora's. I started working there about a year after I moved to New York.
I was organizing the racks with the new releases and fresh stuff, and I saw a new single that looked interesting.
It was Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere by the Who. I had heard of the group before, if I remembered correctly, they had had one single before, I Can't Explain. It was only big because people thought it was a rip off of the Kinks.
It kinda was.
But I set this one aside, and went on with my work.
"Hey Emmy!" Brian called.
I turned around and saw him waving me over to the register.
I went over with a smile when I saw his smirk. We both leaned over the counter, looking at each other. He twirled my hair.
"Whaddya say we do something tonight?" he asked, with a mischevious undertone.
"Oh?" I smirked.
He wiggled his eyebrows and gave me a peck on the cheek. I went back to my work, making sure to keep my smile on until I turned around.
I sighed to myself.
I loved Brian to pieces, he's probably the only thing that kept me alive when I first got here.
But I wondered if he was really what I was looking for.
But I knew what I was looking for, and I knew that I could never get it in a million years.
I wasn't really happy with Brian. I just felt indebted to him because he picked me up off the street. I sighed and pushed my thoughts to the back of my head.
No one was in the store at the time, so I took the liberty of playing that newfound single.
As soon as I put the needle down, I froze.
I would know his voice anywhere. I laughed and thought to myself, "I would know it anyway, anyhow, anywhere." Then I shook my head and listened some more.
God, it was him! I swallowed, and it felt like I just swallowed a rock. I gulped for air.
"Em? Are you okay?" Brian was rushing over.
I shook my head, still frozen. My body apparently wasn't responding to my mind.
I finally jerked around and looked at Brian. "Huh? I'm fine."
He gave me an odd look. "If you say so."
I turned back to the record player.
No, I'm definitely not okay.
