Chapter 4

Camping Out

So now you've been introduced to a Loader's life. Run. Hide. Fight. Run, and hide again. It's not easy being away from family. Especially if you never met them. Adisa always sat and wondered about how her parents were like.

Actually, she didn't even know if she had siblings.

Tanvir and Runako knew their parents at least a little. Adisa only remembers the day she ran away. Were those even her real parents? The mother had brown hair, and so did her dad, and with her patnium blonde hair, how does that happen?

They were still in the forest, but way farther away from the town. They could still see the slightest bit of it at night when the lamps were lit, but it was lonely just sitting on a hill, watching everyone else live perfectly normal, happy, human lives.

That was everything Adisa ever wanted.

Adisa sat in the tent, looking at her scratched palms, flipped them over and saw more, but she saw one on her left arm, then she saw her black eye when she looked in the mirror. Adisa liked scars though, she thought they made her look tough.

As Tanvir and Runako began to wake, she slipped out the tent and she climbed half way up the tallest tree she saw. She looked and saw somebody with terrel cards, and a woman gave him money. He flipped over the cards but Adisa got bored and caught a guard looking into tree and arrow came straight at her. She
ducked just in time, but it hit a squirrel right behind her. Oh well, free dinner.

She took the squirrel, climbed back down, and started to levitate the camp somewhere else.

When she set down the camp, Tanvir climber out.

"What the hell, Di?" he asked, rubbing his head.

"Sorry," she said. "I'm not good at levitating spells yet."
She bumped the tent into a tree or two and dropped it once on the way over.

"Nako still out?" she asked.

"I think you knocked him out..." said Tanvir.

They laughed as they looked at Runako, still sleeping.

"So," said Tanvir. "wanna practice?"

"Sure," said Adisa.

"Okay, we need to find a place to... Do magic..."

"Is something wrong?" Adisa asked, concerned.

"No, no." he said. "but I thought I heard.. Never mind. I was just wondering...
Should we go to town?"

"What? Are you mad?" said Adisa. "Have you been having suicidal thoughts or something? We can't go there! Not with our Marks!"

"I know, I know. But there is magic out there... You can change what you look like... You can be someone else... I want to see my parents."

Adisa stared at him. He looked away as a tear streamed down his face. He quickly wiped it away, closed his eyes and sniffed. Adisa walked forward and hugged him.

There was rumbling somewhere along the trees.

"Me too," said Adisa, ignoring it.

"What was that-?" said Nako, rubbing his head as he stepped out of the tent, but suddenly, Lunnox guards were positioned around them, pointing ray guns and bow and arrows at them.

"Guards." said Tanvir., pulling out his knife as Adisa put up her fists and Runako got his sword.
