Chapter 5
Dylan
The nightly walk around Hogwarts was something I looked forward to. Believe it or not, I was a quiet person at night. I was more of a night owl than most Gryffindors but I was always quiet. Weird, right. Anyway, since Bonnie didn't bother to join us, Olivia and I started down the same path we took over the years.
"I wonder what's gotten into Bonnie." I started, wanting to break the awkward silence that had somehow grew when we started. "I mean, first being late, second talking to Lucious Malfoy, and third forgetting about our nightly walk around the school." Olivia sighed and shrugged.
"I don't know. It is a bit suspicious, though. If Lucious did something to her, I'm going to hex him into next week." I laughed. "What?"
"I don't think I've ever seen you so persistent about hexing. Besides the Marauders, of course." We turned the corner of the seventh floor to drop me off at my house when we saw the three most troublesome kids at Hogwarts.
"Well, if it isn't Olivia and Dylan. We thank you for joining us in pranking a fellow Hogwarts member." James bowed at us humorously and I tried to surpress a smile. Olivia didn't think it was funny.
"What are you doing, guys?" I rolled my eyes and walked forward, putting my arm through James, smiling at Olivia.
"Oh, come on, Olivia. If it's not us they're pranking, it's bound to be fun, right?" She didn't answer as she turned and walked away, angry that I had sided with them. Crap. The three of us have some major talking to do later. I thought as I walked with the three into the Gryffindor house.
"You remind me of someone I know." Sirius said, pretend to think. "Oh, that's right. Me!" They burst out laughing, I tried to hide my smile as I headed to bed.
"Goodnight boys." I called out behind me. As I walked up the stairs, I heard them complaining about me leaving them. "Oh, get over it." I yelled down before opening the door to my dorm. Everyone in the room was already sleeping besides Grace, the only friend I had in this house.
"Hey, you're back late." She whispered. I shrugged and sat on my bed next to hers.
"I was out walking with Olivia." She nodded and climbed under her covers.
"Was it fun?" I nodded and got changed before climbing into my warm bed. "I wonder what classes we'll have this year." She groggily said before drifting off to sleep. Sighing, I closed my eyes, wishing myself to get to sleep when I heard a rapping on the window. Sitting up, I saw it was an owl. Curious, I opened the window and the owl flew in, sitting itself on my bed.
"Whacha got there, birdy?" I whispered, not wanting to wake up anyone else. I took the paper out of it's mouth and opened it slowly. The bird left, telling me I was not to send a message back. In fancy writing, it had a message without a signature.
Meet me by the lake during lunch tomorrow
Who would send a message in the dead of night? Who would be up that late? Besides me of course.. My thoughts were on the letter as I fell asleep, getting a dream about the mysterious person.
