The Rants of an Opinionated Teenager

We all have those things that we could go on about for hours. Those things that get under our skin and tick us off. Those things that we just have the need to share. This is my way. You may not agree with some of the things I have to say. Don't waste time arguing an opinion that I'm not going to change. However, I do appreciate you reading, whether you do agree or not.

Also, if you have any ranting subjects, feel free to put it in the comments. (:

Grammar

Grammar.

A word many Quibblo User's relate to in one way or another. Most of you user's fall into one of three categories, within the quibblo society. A few of you are "Grammar Nazi's." The largest portion grammar user's. And a small handful of you are, sadly, grammar abuser's.

Now, for those of you who "abuse" grammar- there's nothing wrong with that. You have the complete right and freedom to write or type however you'd like - evan if iz lik dis. No one can tell you have to type, and if that's how you express yourself, then so be it.

However, there are some downsides for bad grammar. If you hand in an essay to your English teacher with grammar mistakes in every sentence, you're probably not going to get a very good mark on the assignment. Secondly, you're reading this on Quibblo. You're probably on Quibblo for the purpose of writing. If you're going to write, don't you want to write to the best of your ability? This is what I think personally- if you take any story on quibblo, and add proper grammar and puncuation, it automatically looks professional, sounds professional when read, draws the reader's attention, and overall looks better written. Not to mention, sometimes it's hard to read and understand short forms and poor grammar; so if you want your story to reach it's full potential, you're better off using proper grammar- if you're going to spend a large portion of your time writing; you might as well do it to the best of your ability. It also gives you good habits for future necessity.

And now the Nazi's- It's good that you're trying to make Quibblo a better place, and try to improve another's writing. However, don't force it on them. Don't argue with them if they reject your idea. People are people, and they will start drama. If you're good enough to be a Grammar Nazi, you should be good enough to move on and ignore the retaliation of another Quibblo User. And to be honest- you don't have much of a right to go around telling people the way they should be writing. Also, "Grammar Nazi" isn't the best term to use.

The whole point of learning grammar- the differences of "they're", "there", and "their"- is so you can apply it later and life, and appear smarter, more mature, and more successful. Believe it or not- that's the reality of what proper grammar gives off.

If you choose to use poor grammar- so be it. That's your choice. And a lot of the time when I'm not writing- my grammar isn't anywhere near perfect. I mean, there's no point in typing twice the amount of letters in a text or messaging conversation, because it's just going to be read and discarded/deleted. However- here's my tip to you- if you're writing, you should at least do your best to use proper grammar.
