The Attic

Lexis was new to the street and walked around, exploring. She was the only kid in the area so she had no one available to play with. An old house came into view. It looked abandoned, so she let herself in. The house was dusty and every floor board creaked. Lexis looked around. Nothing looked interesting so she moved to the 2nd floor. Again, all she saw was dust. The last floor was the attic. Lexis always hated attics ever sense her last house. Strange noses always came from it. But this one seemed to be luring her in. She climbed the stares up.
At the top she looked around. There was nothing but a box by the window. She looked down into the box. There sat a glass doll. "What a lovely doll!" Said Lexis. She picked it up. Its hair was tangled and dull. The dress was stiffened and stained. "Ill take you home and clean you up!" Cried Lexis, happy to have some sort of friend.
A smile crept along the doll's face as she was carried out the door and away from the house.
