middle school is just starting and longhair is really scared. longhair heads to her homeroom and stay silent thru the rest of the class. months pass and she meets many for life friends. she meets fruitpunch who moves away before finishing middle school with longhair. during the time they went to school together they play during recess. the thing that longhair remembers the most is when playing soccer, longhair decideds to sit out on the sidelines. while longhairs friends play they kick the ball toward her, but the ball is coming fast and longhair doesnt realize its coming until its about to hit her in the face. fruitpunch was near by and ran in front of the ball and protected longhair from getting hurt. this small gesture was always remembered by longhair. she was sad to see fruitpunch go but knew she had to say goodbye. while longhair was friends with fruitpunch she also had another friend, guardian was always coming to see longhair even before school started. guardian would wait for longhair to walk to school so she could walk with her too. guardian and longhair got in the habit of hugging each other every time they saw each other. but longhair was naive of its true meaning. guardian would rub longhairs head whenever she could. they even played with each others hands when they could. one day while longhair was at recess guardian brought her a teddy bear. longhair not knowing what that day was did not understand what it meant. it was valentines day and guardian decided to buy longhair something. but longhair was naive and did not take the friendship further.
