Mistake (This is a story about the song Payphone by Maroon 5)
(Okay, I know that this is a VERY short story, and I really do wish it was better. But with the help of GabbyGaGa, she got me to post the story. Hope you like it!) BTW, this story is about a guy who had to leave his girlfriend in order to go out to war.
Ever since I left, I knew it was a big mistake. There's no phones here, and the payphone I managed to get to costs money.
With all the change I had left in my pockets, I try to call my girlfriend. We hadn't talked to for a long time.
After the 5th ring the line went straight to an operator. The lady on the other side spoke slowly and the phone crackled, "the caller you have been trying to reach has shut their phone down, sorry for this inconvenience."
The phone goes dead and heat rises to my cheeks. I spent my last penny on trying to get a hold of her. It's been one year, I've been out at war. And she doesn't care anymore because it's my mistake.
