Because In the end it didn't even matter.
None of it did. It was all a trick. A hoax.
And now here I am, screaming at you in the freezing, cold rain praying it'll all get better someday. I should know- me of anyone that there is no such thing as magic. Or hope. But maybe love.
Maybe we didn't win. Maybe we weren't the 'saviors' and maybe we'll have to go back to the old ways again. Helpless.
But, and if not then Lord Zeus save me, we did create an impact. And maybe it wasn't really the one we hoped for or the one we where so sure would happen but I can promise you in anyone's name that one day- maybe not today or even the next- but one day, you and I will be remembered.

"WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING HERE?" I yelled. 2:43 am. In the middle of a deserted bridge on the outskirts of some tiny city. In the pouring rain, when everything had went wrong and the weather was freezing any living thing to the bone. A time when I wondered why the hell it wasn't snowing yet.
"THOUGHT YOU'D BE HERE!" he yelled back. I nodded, shivering. He stopped half-way, registering the tall, frost-bitten lamp post in front of him and scanning the winter wonderland that lay in front of us.
I swore quietley under my breath. Really? Meet me half-way? Stupid. Cliche. Idiot.
"SERIOUSLY?!" I snapped, getting his attention straight away.
"WHAT?" he yelled back. Probabaly pretending that he didn't know what in Poseidon's name he was doing.
"You know exactley what I mean!" I hissed to nobody in particular. Pulling my trench coat closer to my skin and wrapping the scarf tightly around my neck, I stomped angrily towards him.
"Meet me half-way? Who the hell are you trying to fool?"
"I'm not trying to do anything."
I raised my eyebrow causing him to burst into laughter. I never thought a laugh could feel so empty.
"Are you coming back?" he asked leaning onto the railing. His hair was wet and sticky- refusing to let go of his face and every drop that fell of his eyelashes seemed to cause a miny Tsunami in me.
"Why the f-" I bit my tongue before I could say anything else.He laughed again but this time is was better. 'Felt like the first time years that I was genuianly funny. "My wings..." I pointed out trying to stop the heating up of my face as if it were some microwave oven. As you may of guessed, I failed. Miserably.
"Never thought I'd see little Gen grow the colour of a Valentine!" he joked obviously with no talent at all because let's face it- this guy couldn't make a hyena laugh if it was the last thing on Earth.
But I luaghed anyway.
I always did.
"I'll help you stupid!" he teased as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
And then there was the silence. Not the awkward one but the one where we appreciated each others existence.
Just admiring the stars on a Saturday night- waiting for the rain to stop.
And that's when he said it. The words that made me crack.
"Did you mean it?"
"Are you kidding?!" I yelped in suprise, feeling all those feelings and emotions flood back in me.
Regret all that love, hate, friendship, betrayal, jealousy, bullying, problem-solving, crazy, wild, envy, embarrasing, hard, stupid but insanley awesome time of our lives? Because-
"I loved you from the start."
